Just some recent thoughts (Patreon)

I guess this project(or me?) seems to be in a period of bad luck recently.

------------ the start of bad luck ------------

In May, after the voting ended, all the models rejected us, which is a very rare case.

The Azur Lane cosplayer couldn't come after I rented a hotel room and she didn't seem sorry for a mistake she could have avoided.

Lili originally couldn't shoot after I rented a hotel room because she had some skin problems, the doctor told her not to wear makeup during that period, but I did't want to cancel a shooting again, and luckily she agreed to not wear makeup.

For the first time, my post has been hidden due to violation of community guideline "sex work and sexual services", after reading the full guidelines, I still don't know which part of Lili's video list post doesn't comply with the guideline, and if there is indeed a violation, I will have big problems producing videos in the future, because I always thought my videos/photos here were very "safe" and alway wanna push a bit further. I sent them a message on July 16th, but got no reply, then I edited the post and submitted it for review on July 21st. As of today, July 31st, the post is still under review and I still haven’t received any reply from them. But there is a statement on that hidden post that says "We will get back to you within 2-3 business days." I guess I will never get any reply on this issue, I'm starting to worry if they will suspend my account in the future because I got an error when trying to make a new public post, I can only create a members-only post first and then edit it to be public later.

YouTube doesn't seem to support newly uploaded VR videos right now, or maybe it's a problem with my account

The audio recorder broke after one year and a half of use.

I haven never been trapped in an elevator before but got trapped for half an hour because of the new recorder.

August's model couldn't make it to the first scheduled shoot, so I wasted money renting a hotel room again, and the worst of all I messed up the audio for August's video set because of my stupid mistake.

To be honest, I have thought about stopping this project recently. Not only was it a matter of bad luck, the number of patrons also suddenly dropped in April, still it's not a bad number, the support of all current members can still cover the cost of a shoot, but mostly because I feel like my works are boring and repetitive.

I thought Ning's set might boost the patron number, but surprisingly, the income in June 2024 was the worst since I resumed CFVR last year, this is really an unexpected result as some members even sent me messages telling me how good Ning is.

I know it's probably because I'm too lazy to promote my works on social media, I also understand that the content of the videos is very similar and you are gradually getting bored, some of you choose to stay at LV0 instead of canceling your membership even if you don't like the videos, some of you have never stopped for a month and stayed on the highest level of membership since I started running this page, so I really wanna thanks all of you, who keep supporting this project monthly no matter you're LV0 or LV5, a big THANK YOU to you all!

Anyway, this is the insight of my page this month.

About 60% of the members are LV0, so 60 - 70 members are LV1 - LV5, which may also mean that the videos are not attractive enough.

Normally, the production cost for a video set is around $800-900 (model fee, agency fee, hotel room, transportation, miscellaneous), but Lili's production cost is around $1300 (2 shootings, the second one is cheaper), and luckily the cost can still be covered. So after costs, I still have about $300-$600 left to myself, I will save the rest of the income for equipment replacement, and after 14 months later I have over $6,000 in savings, enough to buy a new R5C if it ever breaks or buy a new camera if there is a better one for VR in the future or buy a new computer to speed up the rendering. As for the income from MV, it goes into my pocket :) .. Since MV charges 40% on each sale, I still hope that everyone can purchase my clips here for now.

I'm showing you this page just to let you know that the situation of CFVR is not as good as you think, but it's also not bad because at least it's sustainable, and most importantly...

I know that someone are constantly stealing my videos to resell or share with paying members of their communities, please stop and try shooting your own content, because you can definitely hire better models at a lower cost than I can.

There are also someone uploading my full-length videos on different video platforms, I don't see how sharing my work with the public will do you any good, but if you could stop doing that, it would help me a lot because I need funds to increase modeling and agency fees to find and hire good models.

After all that, I figured I need to hire someone who could share the production work with me, and luckily I have a great guy who has helped me on some shoots before and I think he can shoot alone now, and hopefully can give us new ideas.

There are still some goals I want to achieve for CFVR, such as finding an ideal model and starting a sub-project of CFVR with her, hiring a cosplay makeup artist, renting a studio, shooting with >3 models for the same set, shooting with a female guitarist, outdoor shooting. Some of these goals may be too extravagant for a small studio like mine, but at least I hope to achieve the first goal - finding the ideal model.

One last thing, I'm not posting this to ask you to upgrade your pledges just to support this project, please don't try to do that for this reason, I'd be happier if your upgrade was for the videos, so please stay at LV0 if you don't like the videos.

Models for next few months

Due to my dissatisfaction on recent models, I want to stop taking risk for few months and invite the models I've worked with again.

September: Shirley(tbc)

Not popular like Niki and Ning, but she's not afraid to speak, show off some acting skills, and looks good, she might also be able to help find models.

October: Niki (Zombie lolita dress)

Niki has already taken a video set for us with zombie lolita dress in March, the S1 is with Min.

November: Ning or Niki(JK Uniform)

I'm going to invite them both again, JK uniform for Niki and cosplay for Ning, S1 will be them together.

December: hopefully the Ideal model

Just a goal, I will increase the modeling and agency fee, hoping to find a model that can surpass Chloe / Niki / Ning / Kin / Aisa.
