Hey guys, hope you are all doing well :) I had some time backstage today to record an idea for a cool shred lick - turned out pretty nice so I transcribed the part for you in case you want to learn parts of it. This always helps a lot of my students that are searching for new licks and ideas, you don't have to reproduce it completely - maybe you find a nice new phrase in there that you can adapt. Of course it's also a cool technique exercise for alternate picking and sweep picking.

As for instructions - there are a couple of themes in there that I'm working on at the moment. Aside from always cleaning up my alternate picking (lick in the beginning) I focus on tightly switching between 16th note triplets and 16th notes - so when you isolate that part make it your main focus. I also added instructions on when to play down- or upstrokes so you can play it exactly like me!

The second phrase is quite interesting with the slides and ascending theme, this covers the topic of phrasing. I'm working on that a lot at the moment since I don't want to play the exact same riffs/licks all the time.

Next I mix 3- and 5 string arpeggios and add tapping to the mix, this is probably the most challenging part. I don't want any dirt here coming from the transitions. I'm also not using a fretwrap here and everything is unedited (I added the cam sound - a lot of talk about 'fake shredders' at the moment).

I hope that motivates you to practice today, you won't regret it! The next long lesson is coming very soon :)
