FroggyDate- The Cancelled Froggy Prince (Patreon)

Producing original content on both a long-term and short-term basis is always challenging.

Things such as inflation (expenses), personal emergencies/situations of key contributors, the creative health of our contributors, and more play a big role in determining the viability of our creative projects!

While not every idea always comes to fruition, it's interesting to look back at what could have been-- at least, for us, it is. For you all-- none of you even knew!

One canceled idea we'd like to share the remnants of is a canceled flash-game length dating sim-let called "FroggyDate":

- Originally, it was meant to be an experiment into flash-game style/accessible mini-dating sims that would be hosted on our Itch.io page for free!

- Featured a they/him love interest named Tad, a dating-sim playing shut-in recovering from the aftermath of a brutal froggy curse

- Would have seen the player being roped into a date by Prince Blossom, who has paired the two of you up in an attempt to cheer up his friends

A majority of the reason for the cancellation was simply a lack of time and energy to develop. Though the project was nursed by the artist Sauce (presently writing~), overall-- the concept lacked cohesion and a natural angle to work with. It would have required a lot more effort overall to perfect it, especially since it was planned to deal with themes of depression, hyper-fixation in dating/romance, and self-esteem.

The concept was developed, drafted, and canceled over a period of 3-4 days, making significant progress but ultimately being shelved for the time being to perhaps dedicate further time to at a later date.

Perhaps someday, we will return to our beloved lad Tad-- especially since we have a vested interest in providing varied presentations of masculinity.
