Gallagher Mansion Report 08/15/2023 (Patreon)

Esteemed guests, it has been far too long since our last meeting! This devlog is a bit early this week, but we wanted to tell you the fantastic news now~

Version 0.4 Is Now Live!

There's a reason why this one took a little while...

Changelog:

• Coordinated all images and scene direction
• More voice lines added
• New SFX added
• Added Achievements Screen
• Spaced out the pages for the Save/Load Screen
• Added Ending names
• Fixed scrolling credits

To-Do:

• Implement "Research" screen with notes on lore
• Implement the remainder of the "Extras" screens (Sprite, BG, CG Galleries, Music Room, Replay Room, etc.)
• Write the "Honeymoon" Epilogue
• Fix up the itch store page
• Finalize credits

Aside from audio balancing the latter half of Taylor's voice lines, the main script for The Groom of Gallagher Mansion is ready to be enjoyed! All Patrons pledging $5 or more a month can claim their Early Access key here. If you're having trouble connecting your account, please message us via Patreon and we'll generate a custom key for you!

Version 0.4 of the Ren'Py build officially brings the game back to where it was in the Unity build with a lot more enhancements like animations and added SFX, so besides the addition of voice lines, future updates will likely be under the hood.

We're Looking For Feedback!

This update is a pretty big deal! We mostly consider this to be representative of the quality of the game upon release, so as we're putting the final touches on those last few bits, we want to know what you think of how the scenes are coordinated. Did we overuse the screenshake and slap SFX combo? Do some of the expressions not match the delivery of the voiced lines? Is an audio file too loud or too quiet, and needs to be balanced or removed entirely? Did the game crash somehow? We'll be accepting feedback in the usual Bug Reports thread to keep track of what y'all think so we can take another look at it. When you do so, be sure to include the following fields:

We can't guarantee we'll be able to remember everything posted in our Discord or sent via messages since that's a lot of channels to check on, so please remember to use the official thread only.

Final Notes

We know that you've all been eagerly awaiting the final release of Gallagher Mansion, but like many productions with multiple people and moving parts, it can be difficult to give a definite date until things are fully complete. As always, we thank you for your continued patience with us as we near ever closer to the end and hope that you'll enjoy what we have to offer today!

08/21/23 Edit: Regarding Errors Claiming Early Access Keys

We continue to receive more and more reports that eligible Patrons are unable to claim their keys for The Groom of Gallagher Mansion via the Patreon Access link above. This link  automatically generates one key per Patron tied to their email used on both platforms, but it appears that this system has been failing for a non-insignificant amount of our most loyal supporters. We will be reaching out to itch.io support to see if there is anything we can do in the future to remedy this error.

All eligible Patrons should have received an email from itch that contains a download key assigned to the email used on Patreon, and you are required to claim this key with an account to safeguard your access to the game. If there are still issues with claiming this key, please message us privately on Patreon and we'll custom generate a new key for you.
