Games Report 04/26/23 (Patreon)

Another Wednesday means another Games Report from the team! Today is jam packed full of goodies that we're posting publicly too, so let's jump right into it!

The Groom of Gallagher Mansion — Steam Page Now LIVE!

The Steam page for The Groom of Gallagher Mansion has gone public for wishlisting! Now's the perfect time for you to add the game to your Steam wishlists so you can stay on top of launch.

The development team is moving full speed ahead on implementing the rest of the script into the alpha for you all to enjoy, so hopefully next week we'll have a new build to share!

Sleepy Time Jack Version 0.3 Bugs

We previously posted a workaround concerning one of the major bugs in Version 0.3 uploaded last week on our itch.io blog here, but in case you missed it, here's the important part:

For the time being, a confirmed workaround for the issue is to do the following:

1. Enter the Preferences screen upon booting the application

2. Under Typeface, select Kinto to reset the size of the text

3. [OPTIONAL] You may switch back to Rimouski if desired

We've handed the source code to Moleworks to fix and optimize, and will update the build when we've done more internal testing.

Only One of Any Asset Visual Novels by Our Teammates!

A unique visual novel game jam for 1k-long games I (BáiYù) host recently ended, giving players tons of fun bite-sized games to check out! The rules are unique in that not only are developers only allowed to use 1,000 words, but they can only use 1 character sprite, 1 background, 1 piece of music, etc. Doesn't sound like a lot, but you'd be surprised at how much people can accomplish with such restrictions! Several of our teammates took part in O2A2 this time around, and here are their games!

"Bowling for Apples": A Special Apples to Ashes Episode by Primavelous, Erin, Oriana and co.

A special episode in the Apples to Ashes entry: Your first date with your shy coworker, Douglas!

A “first date” scenario noncanon from the actual Apples to Ashes timeline, offered to fans to enjoy some no-strings-attached fluff with the main love interest, Douglas Owens. This scenario isn’t possible for the actual Apples to Ashes plot, but was conceptualized by Primarvelous to allow for this fulfilling “what if” scenario to exist.
