My wife Lisa and I returned today from her post operation appointment, and the doctor gave us great news. There is no sign of cancer! It's hard to even type that, as I've been avoiding even saying the word during this whole thing. But now that it's over we feel so much better. Since I had mentioned this situation in my last personal update post, I wanted to fill everyone in on the good news, and a bit of backstory. No need to read further if talk of surgery makes you uncomfortable, as the TLDR is that she's safe and we are glad. But for those that were concerned, I wanted to share a bit of what happened.

Around February of this year, we had a bit of a scare when my wife found a lump in her breast. We had just lost two of my close family members to cancer this last year, and another friend to a sudden accident. With so much loss all at once, this made us both really worried! After some doctors visits, Lisa underwent surgery for a needle biopsy. The doctor came to the conclusion that it was a fibroadenoma, which is benign and harmless. She was totally safe, and no further treatment was needed. But fast forward to this last month, Lisa noticed that the lump had returned, and had doubled in size. It was never really visible, just that it could be felt under the skin. We went in and the doctor said he was concerned because that was really unusual, so he scheduled a more thorough removal surgery. It's been a weird few weeks as we went from appointment to appointment and did whatever we could to keep our spirits up as we waited for news to confirm if she was safe, or if we would have to go down the road to cancer treatment.

Today we went in for the post operation check up and the doctor gave us the good news. He had successfully removed it all, and there was no sign of cancer in what they removed. We are so relieved, I can't even describe it. It's like color is just a bit brighter and more beautiful, suddenly.

We both wanted to thank you all for the well wishes and concern while we took the time to deal with that. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts! Lisa and I hope that you all find joy in the closing of the year, wherever you are, and however you spend it.

I'm glad things are okay. A family member under threat is one of the worst things to go through.

Damned body doing weird things! Glad she passed her con check and you your charisma check. You two adventurers looked at the BBEG and made it out fine. Fortunately breast cancer has such influence on modern medicine. Be safe and damnit man, write her a ballad. :> - The Ducking Rogue (I am sorry for your loss, sir.) (I hope you have a laugh at that above dramatic flair. Laughter is amazing medicine. When I see fear, I attack with humor lest I curl into a ball and give in. When I see others, I try to give them something to chuckle at with the similar thoughts in mind. Good spirits to you and your family.)

Haha I will have to sing songs of her victory! Thanks Duck-Bot, and I agree. Laughter is a power for good! All the best to you and yours. :)
