Wow, guys! This patreon has reached $2k in pledges! The total is bound to bounce around a bit (as usual), but never the less, this is really a big milestone! It's really all thanks to you! Couldn't do it without ya!

I've written a post to show my thoughts and appreciation for this milestone over on my DeviantArt page. I would have posted it here, but DA has a better formatting for writing large posts, so I felt a link to that would be better.

I love you all for what you have done for me! I will always work hard to be worthy of this great gift, the ability to pursue my passion and share it with the world!

Thank you!

Do you still earn more with commissions?

RoninDude

Currently, I am not taking commissions. Because of Patreon, I am able to focus on my own ideas, and improving my skills through experimentation. But to answer your question, I can earn about $2k-$3k a month via commissions, if I work very hard. But that limits how much work I can post on DA, which is what I use to attract people to my Patreon and Gumroad. Now that Patreon and Gumroad have completely replaced my commission income, I have much more free time to pursue my own ideas, as well as experiment and improve my skills. I do plan on opening commissions again, though, but on a smaller scale than before. I hope that answers your question! :)

Good to hear. The Patreon crowd seems to have gotten huge and I see new artists struggling to get a following. I'm glad you're now in the big league and can focus on your personal projects. Looking forward to any comics!

Hella congrats, dude!

RoninDude

In my experience, it's important to focus on getting a following on social media before you can expect Patreon to work for you. A lot of artists just post that they have a patreon one time, and never talk about it again. that's a big mistake. I've spent years advertising and posting as often as I can, and that really helped pull me out of the pool of unseen talent. But despite the hard work, I could never have done it without the support of the people who enjoy my work! There's a lot that goes into making it work, no doubt! :)

Congratulations dude! Glad to hear that things are working out so well for you!
