First: What do you guys think about the new preview image style? I hope it isn't too small... I am trying to apply some of the ideas you guys offered in our recent discussion: Smaller images with a website watermark. Of course, the final image is massive, at 3840 x 2160 pixels!

Anyways, about the pic: I still have a lot to do! Gotta fill those book cases, add the dwarf, some clutter, the "clue" that the elf is investigating, as well as rough up some of the background a bit. This picture has taken so long, I have decided to take a break on it, and tomorrow, I will work on two "sexy but simple" pieces, to get caught up on Patreon posts. I am afraid I won't get this one done in time for posting, tomorrow, and I don't want to rush it.

I actually learned something really freaking awesome in this, something that will speed up such drawings by a heck of a lot. We are talking probably 10 times faster... And it includes using the modeling program "Sketchup" to help me design architectural backgrounds. Now, as the progress sits, it's a bit TOO clean, but I can certainly rough it up a bit and adding details as I go. But in the meantime, expect something sexy/cute (X2) from me in the next day or two. :)

*PHEW* I got long winded, today. XD

Thanks for your support!

Welcome back, giant boots! :D Also, using 3D models for reference is great! My bestie, Violetta, does that when she draws Star Wars space scenes!

I can't even begin to describe how much time it's going to save me. I actually drew the whole thing out with brain powers first, which took over 10 hours to figure out. Then, I decided to try and redo it with Sketchup. It only took about 2 hours to create the model (first time using it so I was learning) and about 30 minutes to redraw it in my illustration. After comparing the one I did from my mind and the one I did using sketchup, they were amazingly close. It's good to know that I can accurately use perspective rules with my mind only, but I'd rather use the 3D modeling tool to get the work done faster. :)

That program is impressive for sure! Interested in seeing the difference when you've roughed it all up.

It sure is! It's opened up a ton of possibilities that I was a bit intimidated to try before. :D Me too. Most of the detail comes from the painting process, anyways. the lines for backgrounds are really just there for guides, and I usually color the lines so they aren't as noticeable in the end, and then paint roughness over them, so things don't look too straight.
