And back again with another poll. I can't say how overwhelming it is to see all the comments and votes, it is more than I expected. Thank you guys so much~

This time it's about the gameplay. Do you prefer a Sakura game with gameplay and if so, how much gameplay?

If it's anything like Sakura dungeon, then yes, I'll take as much as you can give!

Something like Sakura Dungeon every once in a while would be good. Wouldn't mind the VNs getting some gameplay either.

Depends on how you do it

Yes to gameplay, It helps the player get involved with the story.

Sakura Dungeon was by far my favorite, some games with deeper gameplay like it once in a while would be great.

Blaise

Of the games I've played, Sakura Dungeon is pretty far up there in terms of enjoyment. I really enjoyed the gameplay as well as the story.

Sakura Dungeon is my absolute favorite Sakura game so if more gameplay means more games like it I'm down

I enjoyed Sakura Dungeon, but I love to play visula novels without much gameplay either. It depends on the situation what I prefer.

Ocho

Sakura Dungeon was excellent and a game like that is excellent on occasion, but much like a fine dessert, it should be limited to a now and again thing. That said the visual novels are superb as well. Keep up the great work!

It really depends on what you mean with gameplay. I think you're using Renpy for making games, and that can be used for instance to also make point and click adventure games and hidden object games. So there is plenty of diversity that you could employ with the sort of gameplay that you want to aim at. More than just the visual novel thing. But yeah, I can't really vote on this as I don't really know what type of gameplay you mean.

I fear that the term 'gameplay' is a tad too ambiguous for this poll. I don't mind how a game goes about telling the story, be it through text or gameplay as long as it doesnt hinder one another. If this poll is about whether VN's or games like Sakura Clicker or Sakura Dungeon is preferred, it really depends. I've never been much for clicker games, but I loved the heck out of Sakura Dungeon. But I also really enjoy the VN's. For me, it really boils down to what kind of mood I'm in whether I boot up a VN or something with a tad more gameplay

Sakura Dungeon was amazing! More than anything I'd like to see a sequel, spiritual or otherwise.

While I think we all love Visual novels, seeing as that is how you guys started out! (And they where very enjoyable!) I think some mixture of gameplay at times is a lovely and great way to even it out. So any game for me, really is being added to my list! Be it a Visual novel, a Dungeon crawl like Sakura Dungeon, or even if your working on some 8bit mash up, like so many else. I, and many others here, I'm sure! Will keep on supporting you! Rock on!

Define "gameplay." To me, Sakura Dungeon follows the traditional meaning while a normal VN technically has this, too. More choices means better "gameplay" in a VN - more endings. That is tough on the writers, naturally. So, finding traditional gameplay that fits the story theme means you can shift the entertainment focus from storyline diversity to more traditional game elements. Naturally, different people have different preferences here - When I look for a VN I usually look for one with at least five possible outcomes and traditional game elements are a bonus (if they're well done).

What you did with Sakura Santa was definitely the direction I want to see you guys go. That game had SO many options and directions it's kind of baffling I haven't seen much of it in later works. Like we had 3 options of potential girlfriends our Main Protagonist could have and we could choose which character the Protagonist would like and the outcome of the story changed for each path. I guess what I described was a "Dating Sim", but That's kind of what Sakura Santa was and to me I feel like that has to be the best of the Sakura games so far. So if you want my input. Do more Dating Sims.

While I wouldn't mind more games, asking for that would get me less overall as they take more time than the books and is also riskier and you guys doesn't seem to like that. If you'd make a game out of a story Im not interested in it would kinda suck but if [let's make this be a little greedy] Sakura fantasy omega, a winged cloud game. Id PRAISE the heavens but that is not how it would be every time. And books are nice too and not all story lends themselves to gameplay fx swim club, beach. I dont know what my opinion on a book with a few gameplay elements, I have had with that concept from flash games but I dont have any opinions on it atm.

Ps speaking of sakura fantasy is there a way to turn the voice acting you patched in off?

I love gameplay, but I like variety more. The more choices I can make and more paths I can follow, the more immersed I become. I tend to feel dissapointed with linear games like Space and Nova. I would defintely expand more on little gameplay like that strip poker from Agent. That was fun and could be a whole minigame. If you're ever feeling really ambitious, I would love to see a Winged Cloud version of Long Live The Queen. That was a VN/RPG game where you are a princess training to take over the kingdom. Putting points into skills each day that determine what your character is like how her dialogue options behave. There were so many outcomes and so many nuances that made the game alive.

I voted for gameplay and that you should put in as much as you want that would help to enhance any given storyline as well as to bring more depth into your characters. Cloud, you could even add gameplay to you upcoming three games which are Magical Beach, Gamers and Adventure.

Magical Beach and Adventure - You could create a simulator or an RPG where your characters can walk through a variety pathways with suburban areas where they can collect special items, attack as many vicious foes as well as they can to get a level up and stop by a save point as a way to keep tabs on their progress.

I'd be interested in seeing more animated sequences

^. Especially, if the storyline involves the characters to be in a fantasy world going on adventures or takes place in a dystopian universe that where the heroes fight against the main to save/bring back civilisation.
