hey remember that Wrestling With Pixels kickstarter? From 2013? That promised to cover every wrestling video game in detail up to 2014? And the author/creator hasn't been seen or heard of since?

well if you have a spare few hours, listen to Maffew (the guy who does Botchamania who got roped into this mess of lies) and Martin McHendry (Maffew's friend who was willing to sit down and go through all this crap with him) go through this deceit-filled saga and give a perspective on a project that tried to turn everybody involved into a pile of lies.

I apologise for the length and anger that occurs in this but there was a loooottt of bullshit to swim through so grab a few snacks and a stress ball.

If you have any further questions on this mess, put 'em in the comments below and I'll answer them as best as possible.

They don't need me to defend them, but I just wanted to point out (and you probably do during the podcast, tbf) that Hardcore Gaming 101 took over / inherited / salvaged this project and will be publishing something sooner or later. I assume backers will be getting these books.

Now I’m glad that I forgot to back this project. Regarding people not being as mad as you expected: sadly Kickstarter is basically a pit that you throw money into that sometimes delivers. Sometimes it’s because people generally don’t realize how much work/money goes into some rewards but Kickstarter doesn’t really enforce any timeline or deliverables to keep grifters away from running away with backer money. I think people have just become numb to the fact that sometimes they don’t get anything.

I was one of the backers that paid $100 to be on a podcast talking about the games. I never got the chance to do that, never asked for a refund. Disappointing, but I still support Maffew and Botchamania

Dear Maffew, I finally got around to finishing this tonight--gotta say I really enjoyed your rage (and found it to be well-deserved!) and thought you laid everything out very well. Sorry you had to endure such a lousy situation. I also enjoyed the Lord Lucan reference! (had to look it up on wiki)
