They skipped a lot of parts , espeically how how katara obtain that scroll. It was given a certain budget within a certain timeframe/episodes to cramp everything in . No live action can follow the anime or manga 100% of the way. There will be a lot of parts they will have skip over.

yeah like KingRex said, Katara took the scroll from th epirates, the pirates that commander Zhao eventually had to explode Zuko's ship (which was cut out here) and the Kyoshi scene didn't happen in the original but im not mad about it. It was an epic scene. The sea serpent which aang used to clear out the fires that the fire nation left, was also cut out
