The live action isn’t 1 to 1 to the anime and manga they made a lot of changes for the live action and condensed it so it would work. Your right buggy never revealed to luffy about shanks that early.

They made buggy raw as hell lol, Also shanks losing his arm to that sea monster is kinda cap lmfao even tho shanks wasn't a yonko at the time he was basically like how luffy was during dressrosa , Luffy beat that thing in chapter 2, but according to shanks he basically lost his arm on purpose to inspire luffy

Originally Oda didn't plan for Shanks to lose an arm but his editor told him that it would be more impactful at the time it was released
