Yeah, it’s lame. People just like to ruin the fun of things for people. It’s honestly really not hard to just not spoil or do things like that with things, no matter how passionate or how much you like something. Plus it also messes up reactions slightly cuz you know what’s to come with things. Sorry to hear that guys.

Honestly its great to read the manga instead of anime with one piece cause imagine the One Piece reveal in the future, like getting spoiled on that is just tragic, or any other big secrets we have yet to know.

that definitely sucks man, but like you mentioned some people were saying - theres a lot separate from the visual itself that I still think will make you happy + your experience authentic, so don’t be too worried about it being “ruined”. Also, coverage or no coverage - you should definitely jump to the manga if you think its the best idea. As a reader (no spoilers) I can see a shit ton of press coverage in for the coming chapter adaptations from main accounts. Keep the story authentic for yourself, with something as wonderfully crafted as One Piece - I think your subscribers can leave a bit of their reaction content on the table, if it means you guys get to keep your experience pure and unruined by social media.

in previous years, viewers were against reactors switching to the manga for various reasons. This is no longer the case though due to how many anime reactors were spoiled on the upcoming design and are getting spoiled on social media in general. I'm surprised you lasted this long without seeing it in the first place. That being said, I think most of your viewers would now support your decision to switch to the manga. I'd recommend watching the next two anime episodes though as they are supposedly high budget but after that feel free to switch to the manga.

There's a pretty huge base of One Piece Manga Reactors if they choose to go down that path - and some of those chapters are CRAZY lmao, so while they wouldn't have the OST or animation, I think the raw storytelling & oda's craft really shines even in the source material.

it's mostly about having that freedom to be on social media or read comments etc without worrying about anything. it's a drag for most creators to deal with all of this when their careers focus heavily on social media and interacting with their community.

As a manga reader, I was spoiled on the visual aspect as well and even knew the story aspect to it cause twitter was blowing up with spoilers when it happened in the manga. When i got to it in the manga tbh being spoiled didnt take anything away from the chapter. it wasnt even that bad cause seeing it in action was way better than my expectation. But yea if you are on twitter its really easy to get spoiled unless you got people warning you about it.

Probably my biggest pet peeve with one piece and its fans is its disregard to the anime only fans and how poor the anime adaption is for most of the show especially after the timeskip. On top of the animes HORRIBLE pacing there's a lack of consideration in the community and the series' marketing team for people not wanting to be spoiled or dont read the manga. It seems like its just acceptable to get spoiled which makes sense in japan because in japan most ppl read the manga and the concept of anime-only dont exist but with such a global series like one piece i feel there should be a better sense of concern regarding the western audience. Most other animes are cautious about that like demon slayer, bleach, etc. But it seems like one piece's popularity sometimes works to its detriment.

Steph I really hope you cover the manga on here. That would be sooo fiiiiire. Oda has written nothing but straight heat since Wano ended. Its crazy, and I really do think One Piece is best experienced in the manga after years of following both. There's just something amazing about turning a page and seeing some crazy shit, instead of having to wait for a bunch of panning shots of people's faces to get there lol. Either way do your thing :)

The Drums of Liberation starting when Luffy's heart seemingly restarted sounded so fucking cool to me. If Zunesha is hearing them for the first time in 800 years, it feels like we're hearing the drums of the ancient enemy of the World Government or something, and now that Luffy has awakened his fruit it signifies the beginning of round 2 of whatever war occurred 800 years ago. Their flame never died out! Idk man this is not spoilers at all, purely thinking about the meaning of those drums. Its so cooool

Steph definitely need to read the manga, I don't want him to be spoiled on the most important revelation of the One Piece world, like the Void Century, the One Piece, power-up, death... It's fine because we would get Steph doing live reaction to the chapters, moreover we would still get live reaction to the anime with Steph and Mel. Mel will still go in to the anime blind, so I find it to be the perfect solution.

I’d say you shouldn’t start the manga until you at least watch episode 1072. Maybe wait until wano ends if you want to finish it with the anime but so many hype things are happening in the manga right now so after ep1072 is a good time to start imo. Anyone can feel free to give another suggestion if they think it’ll be more suitable.

I agree with everyone saying Steph being blind would bring better content for us overall, but he is active on social media, and he will most likely be spoiled again in the future as soon as anything as big will happen again, especially if it's from official accounts. So I would encourage Steph to actually read the manga, maybe upload the scan reactions or do it live on stream could be a cool content if he wants. And for the experience, you will enjoy one piece so much more, because there are no pace issue and Oda has been on a roll. Just my two cents :)

This is the same drumbeat from skypieas party after beating enel . Type in “drums of liberation” one YouTube guys. Whether or not it was planned from day 1 the fact Oda in an SBS said that this scene was his favourite to draw, now 10 years later, makes so much more sense

I really don't like how they spoiled One Piece worldwide, like we manga readers know what's about to happen so even we were surprised when they released trailers of what's about to happen in the anime, granted it didn't show everything but still. I remember when it was revealed in the manga the entire One Piece manga community was going crazy, they even talked about it in newstations across the world I'm not even lying. Me I love reading the manga weekly but I avoid spoilers since usually manga spoilers get released a few days before the chapter releases.
