As an anime only, I did like the mystery aspect of the show. Just the pacing was weird between the past and the present. Hopefully we do get answers though in a season 2.

The thing about this anime is, you cant watch it like a normal anime. this show is not like other anime's it is extremely subtle in a way you almost never get in anime. Everthing has a purpose. The girl with the funny ears says her biggest fear is to be stuck with needles and cut up, a white haired boy is in love with her. Meanwhile, there is another woman who has been stuck with needles, hooked up to machines, a white haired man takes care of her. He has a pin in his hand when he kills himself. That same girl who fears needles hands the white haired boy a pin at the end of the final episode. Everything is linked. It just takes a careful eye to find it all.
