This episode shows why Aemond getting Vhagar a couple episodes back was so huge. Vhagar is the biggest dragon in this whole conflict, and actually was one of the three original dragons of Aegon the Conqueror and his sisters.

The dragon Daemon was singing too is Vermithor the Bronze Fury which is the 2nd largest dragon currently. My guess is Daemon kind of listened to what Rhaenyra said when she told him that majority of the dragons he named had never been to war so he wanted another dragon that could be an asset. Earlier in the season Viserys told Rhaenyra that dragons were a power man should of never toyed with and how they think they control dragons this incident between Aemond and Lucerys is a great example of how at the end of the day the dragons are still animals with their own minds.

yeah aemond has the biggest dragon there is atm, rhaenrya and daemon both have large dragon buts not that big.

If y’all are looking for a show to replace house of the dragon I highly suggest Ozark. It’s on Netflix. Watching ozark and breaking bad at the same time would be crazy

Not sure if anyone commented this before, but to clarify from a few episodes ago (episode 8): The girl that was sitting next to Aegon at dinner was in fact his sister Heleana. She is also his wife. So you were correct in the whole jealousy thing, it’s just confusing because they’re brother and sister but in the old incest-y Targaryen tradition they were betrothed to “strengthen” the bloodline and keep it “pure”. They also have a few children together that are shown like one time I think. Lol 😬 Also, in the books, some Targaryen’s are “dreamers” which means they had dreams or visions which foresaw the future in some ways. Heleana is thought to be one by viewers. If you look back at the scene where Alicent is chatting with her in her chambers and Aemond talks about how he doesn’t have a dragon, Alicent tells him he will one day. Then Heleana says to herself “he’ll have to lose an eye for it”, essentially warning of what will soon happen to Aemond. Another example is in episode 8 when they’re sat at dinner and everyone is arguing, Heleana says “beware the beast beneath the floor”. That was her foreseeing what happened at Aegons crowning in the dragon pit in episode 9. The Targaryens come from Old Valyria, a huge powerful city that was destroyed by a catastrophic natural disaster about 200-300 years prior to HOTD. Back then in Valyria there were many who practiced magic, and dreamers were a known thing. But because it was so long ago and that culture of magic is gone, no one believes or is really aware of that stuff. That’s why no one pays mind to Heleana, they just think she’s a bit odd/crazy and says random weird things. They have no idea that the things she says could be future prophecies. One of the Targaryen ancestors had a dream where she foresaw the doom that was to come to Valyria some years before it happened, so they fled to what is now Dragonstone, which is how their family and dragons (along w Valyreons) survived the doom. It was about 100 years or so later that Aegon the first, along with his two sister wives would conquer all of Westeros. Anyway, sorry about the long comments! Just wanted to mention it all incase you didn’t know :) it’s so interesting ! Can’t wait for season 2
