There's quite a bit of foreshadowing lost in translation here for non-Japanese speakers. In episode 2 when "Nagumo Ryuunosuke" is recording herself on her phone, she uses the personal pronoun "watashi", which is a more feminine way to refer to oneself. However, in episodes 4 and 5, she uses "boku" as her personal pronoun, which is more masculine and often associated with young boys. She's also speaking incredibly politely to Shinpei when she, as the elder, should be speaking casually. Then, after she gets shot by the 4 armed shadow, she switches back to using "watashi" and her tone and speaking pattern completely change and she starts speaking to Shinpei informally. The subtitles also don't capture this, but after she gets shot, she stops speaking with the same "hick" accent everyone else in the show uses and switches to the standard japanese accent. A bit more obvious here is that she refers to "Ryuunosuke" in the 3rd perosn. Just something to keep in mind for anime only watchers.

I hope you guys manage to find out a way to watch this with different subtitles that don't give stuff away. Greatly enjoying this and the boys though, i'm all here for it.
