To Mel's point I think we can surmise that she faced issues with Homelander. Recall Homelander said if he found out she was dating anyone he couldn't take it. So if anyone did anything to her it would have been Homelander. Also about the plane, Homelander is right about what would happen if he tried to lift the plane. It would split in two based on physics. What's he wrong about is that he could have saved some of the people. But I think he saw an opportunity to twist the narrative by allowing those people to die.

Yeah like Homelander said, if he would save some they would tell the World what happend and that he basically wanted to abandon everyone. Which would ruin their reputation. So in cases like this, it's all or nothing.

I know this is old, but no Translucent was by no means a good guy, If you recall he views humans just like Homelander, Using context clues in how he spoke to "The Boys" you can assume he's killed innocent people. He literally tried to kill Hughey from the jump. Starlight is the only one who's really innocent.
