That’s exactly how it happened in the manga... the anime adaptation was done really well but I get that anime only ppl can easily get confused with this segment, especially with the tokage port quiproquo, it was just a gag to make ppl laugh at kinemon extreme luck in following the destiny that oden and his wife bestowed upon him lol. U know oda loves making jokes in the most serious moments 😂

Considering all the theories and ideas on what happens to the 4200 troops that floats around during the manga. The reveal that its actually Kinemon just misinterpreting the message was funny and unexpected.

If you notice anything notice how gear 4 bounce man is now just like gear 2 and 3. Luffy can use it without any repercussions and come right back out.

episode 978 content wise was about 8 pages long from one chapter. there definitely is some pacing issues at the moment due to how close the anime is to the manga but I'm sure they're making these episodes slow so they can speed up during the more hype segments of the arc.

I'd agree with you if the scene had played out, or if it was factual that laws room would reach that distance that quick, but yh, in an objective sense if it was raining he could, if his room encompassed the area

I think you misunderstand the riddle part. People didn't misinterpret Kinemon's riddle. But then Yasuie add two lines into the riddle, everyone correctly interpret the place, and Kinemon is the only one misinterpret Yasuie's riddle.

I can definitely agree with you guys on the pacing. It's horrendous right now, but the pacing should get better as it progresses. These episodes leading up to the raid should be the worst if it.

Since the anime is getting pretty close to the manga right now, I feel like the anime is going to have a handful of these type of episodes to stall. I think it would be better if they had a break so the manga can get ahead and the pacing won’t be as bad. I also really hope they extend the fight scenes instead of dragging on the dialogue for these upcoming episodes
