You all need to remember stands aren't just a simple everyone can control a stand there are many different kinds as you said you've seen it before. Superfly was it's own stand and Anubis was very similar in part 3 where it could control people pretty much the same concept but different ability.

Personally these episodes are the payoff for why I feel like this is the reason that Part 4 felt so sidetracked. I think Araki was trying to help establish a strong network of friends and allies for Josuke to show that without them he would have failed. The "alien" helped with Super Fly, Yuya helped with Enigma, and the efforts of Jotaro, Koichi and Rohan are what helped them find Kira. Meanwhile Kira doesn't have any of this, so he's in a bit of trouble.
