Gotta agree on the part that Subaru is just a basic normal otaku boy who seemed to be really ecstatic about being summoned to a parallel world (an otaku's dream) and readily accepted it for some reason. If he's not an otaku he'll probably be even more confused about the context. But other than that, he's probably just as confused about everything. I think the experience of reliving smt for him is like reliving a dream. Where you kinda see something familiar happening, but you'll end up getting dragged into the flow of the event as it happens before you. Another example would be that you had a premonition of being hit by a car, but no one takes this kinda thing seriously unless you're really superstitious, however, you'll still be wary about the foretelling to a certain extent. And when it does happen and the car is in front of you, your body just can't react to it and get drag along with the flow of events. Well, at least that is what I think is happening with Subaru. But like what you say he gotta learn from it, especially when he's the protagonist haha. And you'll realize smt interesting too in the way Subaru reacts to his death. It's depicted in a very 'real' way i would say, in how painful it was, how overwhelming it was for him. It's good to take note of that because this has, in turn, affected the way he made his decision after being brought back to the starting point agn. You'll see that in episode 1 how he's making decisions out of emotions than a rational train of thought after his death. Anyway, can't wait to hear more of your opinions about the story and character progression as it goes, get rdy for a bumpy ride. 😂

YES!!!! re zero, I've finished it the second time last week but I will watch it again because it is one of my favortie Anime. You will definitely enjoy it. And for Subaru, I hate and love him at the same time...he's a bit weird xD

Subaru is the one anime character I truly despise as a protagonist. dude Was clueless thought out the whole show and died so many times because he wasn’t thinking and literally not using his ability to his advantage.

The dude got killed multiple times doing the same dumb shit thinking it gonna work. I mean look at the part where they were bargaining for the Insignia, he acts so carefree like he’s not in a dangerous situation he wasn’t in prior to being gutted there before and gets killed the same way

You'll really like the world building in this - which I've you heard you enjoy. It is so dynamic with multiple moving parts. Each episode builds up on itself. I understand where the frustration is coming from in ep 1, but it's safe to say that you won't be frustrated for long in THAT regard. However, the author will use this story and characters to make you feel certain ways when he wants to. This is after all, a middle finger to all the power hungry/fantasy teen main characters. When people say emotional roller coaster, this is it.

I really hated Erased in the end... My number 1 guess from the very beginning was right. I kept thinking "Nah that would be too obvious, I can't wait for this story surprise me with who it really is!". But nah, in the end it was very simple. Anyways, digging these reactions! I totally forgot about this series. Keen for more!
