Hmmm, the thing about filler is that some of them have multiple episode arcs which is why it appears random.

Bless you guys for watching these episodes, even though there's only bits of canon. Previous Episode Canon: Naruto in the hospital, Jiraiya saying we'll go train. 3 years. Ep 141 Canon: Shikamaru's convo with Tsunade about including medical ninja, prompting Tsunade to explain why they're hard to train. Naruto tells Sakura he'll keep his promise to bring Sasuke back, but Sakura tells Naruto to wait for her, and she'll come help next time... Sakura asks Tsunade to train her (which is a HUUUUGE development). Ep 142 Canon: Everyone recovered from their injuries, training.

Everything else was filler. Steph was pretty good about pointing out what the filler was... The beginning of 141 was the end of a filler arc, where Jiraiya took Naruto and Sakura to investigate an Orochimaru base to try and find Sasuke. Obviously that filler mission ends, and we end up back at the hospital and start the whole filler cycle over again. After you guys watched episode 142, Steph correctly pointed out that the main canon point was Jiraiya in the hospital, taking Naruto to go train and references 3 years, but Jiraiya gave an excuse of another mission he had to go on, delaying our plot from moving forward. THAT excuse and the episodes that come from it is filler. We repeat a similar cycle of filler episodes for another 78 episodes or so, before the plot actually finishes in 220.

All in all. The main plot points of the previous episode, 141, and 142 are: --- Jiraiya is going to take Naruto to train for 3 years. --- Sakura tells Naruto she'll help out next time. --- Sakura asks Tsunade to train her. --- Everyone else is recovering and resuming their training. --- The back half of episode 220 should propel our plot into Shippuden.

One cool detail is that Neji is training with Hinata's father (the head of the Main family). Naruto's fight with Neji helped bring reconciliation between the Hyuga's Main and Branch families... so that they freely train together.

Yeah this was the first video I ended up skipping through and not really watching. Hopefully they do the last like five minutes of 220 and episode one today

Yeah I think you guys could do the last 5 mins of 220 and then go into Shippuden. I also recommend watching at least the 1st and 3rd Naruto movies. I think Mel would enjoy those

Would be Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow and Guardians of the Crescent Moon movies, yeah Stone of Gelel was pretty linear, very good art but i never felt it trough the movie
