One note: In the manga, Tsunade knocked out Orochimaru in one blow. I disagree with the anime's choice, but the anime chose to highlight Tsunade's will and determination, so we get this sequence where she's just beating the crap out of him. LOL.

They're all nerfed, but here we see a glimpse of the power of the Legendary Sannin! Could you imagine having to fight Konoha in a war, and they have these three powerhouses on their side?

Fun Fact: The Sannin's names are based on the Japanese folktale, "The Tale of the Gallant Jiraiya." In the folktale, Jiraiya is the samurai protagonist who uses frog magic to help the poor and needy. He marries Tsunade, who uses slug magic that is strong against snake magic. Orochimaru is the antagonist, and is the son of a snake and uses snake magic, wihch is strong against frog magic.

The “snail” is actually a slug it has to do with the relationship between the snake, slug and toad in Japan where the snake beats the toad and the toad beats the slug and the slug beats the snake kinda like rock paper scissors

Exactly Steph. The payoff is great in Naruto. One Piece too. A lot of animes just dont do it like that anymore. The payoff is often immediate. There isnt a slow buildup and gradual progression. You hardly see that anymore

Seems like you guys are really enjoying the show and the writing, that's awesome. Feels crazy that ya'll are so far along in OG Naruto - Shippuden is right around the corner. And as Belz was mentioning at the end, knowing the moments ahead, as good as the show is right now it's crazy how much more peak it continues to get.
