17 definitely one of my favorite episodes of this series that shin moment was special Lena only had three lines in this episode and it and it moves me every time I rewatch

Episode 17: What shin wanted to say was: Yeah you all just go and leave me behind like always ( when we sawing his memories) When Shin was in that fight and "heard" Lena, to him that means she was absorbed by the Legion like the others that have died. - This episode Shin really thinks Lena is dead. When he demonstrates his ability to the general, the last place he marks with legion before they stop him is in the Republic, inside the Gran Mur, in District 1, where Lena lives. Shin realises here and now that the Legion has overrun the Republic and there is no way that Lena could have survived (as far as he knows). The ghosts of his fallen comrades celebrate the fall of the Republic a bit, maybe distasteful but understandable given the circumstances. Shin was already in a bad place but he at least still had the major, but now... - She was supposed to be different, everyone else eventually just becomes a name he has to carry with him in his heart, another ghost haunting him, but she was supposed to carry his name when death finally takes him she was supposed to be HIS reaper, and now Lena has joined Kujo, and Kaie, and Haruto, and Daiya, and everyone else. The one connection Shin had to the future, to something beyond war, is lost to him forever. From now on there really is no hope for Shin. (Unless by some miracle he is wrong about Lena's death) Also great visual detail, Shin cannot cry and so his reflection sheds a tear for the major (for the future) on his behalf This is the moment where shin truly begins to bargain with reality and accepting that Lena is most probably dead. It's so sad tbh, when she walks past him saying I won't let you die. The fact that she's so short compared to him too, even with the hat. It must have felt so hopeless to him.

Episode 18: Ernst lost lost his family now he is the "current" President, if humanity can't survive without sacrificing the warrior ( the childs) , he will give up to protect humanity itself, thats what he mean about destroying the world and he have "strength" to do that too. Ernst ost goes hard thing to remember about Frederica is her power... She will forever see Kiri as a Legion until he is destroyed, and if they die and end up like Kiri she will be left to see them like that forever too.

If you guys are gonna keep doing 2 episodes per release, just make sure you watch 22 and 23 together since the series ends on a odd number of episodes

It brings me great joy that you clicked with this show. Loved the moment where Bel pointed out that the moment to crack jokes is right before getting ready to deploy. Exactly what I was thinking. Can skip 18.5. It's a recap iirc. Also you want to watch the last 2 episodes together. So either triple up on week or just do a single before the final 2.
