Just btw, episode 9 rolled credits with the scene with the birds and at the very end they show the major's dashboard again with the status of Shin's team being updated. Would recommend waiting out the credits going forward for all episodes because sometimes they'll include credits during the cutscene instead of having a post credits. Also with the birds, if you watched the whole thing, you'd see that they start disappearing one at a time for each member left in the team until they're all gone. One last thing is that Shin's brother also protected Shin at the very end by covering his broken cockpit with the sludge so that he wouldn't get hurt by the blast.

The juggernaut piece he showed Fido at the end was his brother's, it said "Rei". Shin always kept it with him but he didnt write his name until after he "put him to rest".
