If you remember first news about russian troops near our borders were about since January. We live really close to Donbas and we remember and know very well a situation since 2014. In 2014 we helped our internal refugees and our army: donated blood, collected aid and more. We didnt know where will be the offensive, but well aware that we may be in serious danger this time. What we did: bought extra gasoline, put all our documents in one place, withdrew cash. And we continued just to live like usual. Because there were a lot dates when russia could attack.

And as you know russia started the war Februry 24. Its pretty funny because Februry 23 is holiday of the Soviet army. Russia loves so much anythin from USSR.

I woke up because bombing missiles our aeroport. At first I thought it was some kind of firecracker. Sometimes this happens and it is difficult to understand the power of the explosion after waking up. I fell asleep soon again.Yep I love to sleep especially at 05:30 AM) But sin 1hour my husband woke me up and said that the war had started, that many cities were under fire.

I started to gather: I went to wash my hair, to collect things. My husband went to the store to buy food on the way ... but the queues were huge. There were also queues at ATMs and gas stations. We thought of everything except food.

It was incredibly scary but I really didn't want to leave home. There were many reports from Russia that they would fire only at military targets. So I know that they can't be trusted but I really wanted not to go ... We thought for a long time and decided to go only after 5PM. We stopped on the way to the neighboring town and took relatives, a woman with a child.

We decided to drive to the sity of Kropyvnytskyi and spend the night there and then go to Vinnytsia. The distance was 245 km. We got there only after 2AM: the roads were crowded. We got we exhausted and had nowhere to spend the night. All the hotels were overcrowded. We slept just in the car. Three adults and two children. We were able to book the hotel only the next night. If on February 24 we planned to go to Lviv, then on February 26, when we went to Vinnytsia, the situation changed. At the entrance to Lviv there was a queue for 15 km. We decided that it was better not to go there, but to go to the Carpathians. Our relative had an acquaintance there we could stay. And only on the night of February 27 we came here, where I am still. Conditions were not very good, the house is under repair, so we needed to find housing. And this was the hardest and probably still is. But at the end of February there was no housing at all. We were very lucky to have a local acquaintance and he found an apartment with his neighbors. This is a basement with windows. And it was just salvation...

Genuinely can't even imagine what it's been like. The sheer terror of barbaric, indiscriminate bombing. Just, stay safe and take care. 💛💙

I'm glad you are still in good health. I appreciate hearing this story, because I don't often hear stories from individuals living this experience. I usually only hear vague general descriptions of what is happening on a national level.
