If I could double-like or thumbs up for this series, I would! Truly appreciate your insights as a dancer — especially since you've had actual battle experience, so I think that gives a more nuanced view of the dancers' performances AND judges' opinions! And re-watching this with you, I can see what you mean by "not all people who are meant for battles are meant to be in group routines," individually these dancers might be impressive but working together tests your collaboration skills and timing. Awww, thank you very much for your kind words! I'm glad that my dance experience from so long ago can be helpful today! Yeah, you hit the nail right on the head, working together in group routines really does put them to the test as well as vice versa. I'm glad we get to see the group battles as well as the freestyles and judge battles as it allows more opportunity for people to have. a moment to shine! Also, thanks for the info on Breakdancing being in the Olympics, I'm defo going to go through that article! I'm so happy to see how far it has come, not just that but the whole perception of street dance/ freestyle dance as it was always sort of looked down on by the snobs of the prestigious dance academies/institutes.
