So I’m American but have Mexican parents so we grew up speaking Spanish and were lucky to visit Mexico a lot but I read a lot in English, so for a long time I didn’t speak it “well” so i definitely felt like I was younger in terms of being able to express myself. BUT I’ve been really lucky to use it a ton more in my work as an adult over the last few years so it’s gotten loads better and I feel like I’m finally more of an “adult” when speaking to family.
