Hi Patreons,

Thank you so much for supporting our channel, and enabling us to bring you extra puzzles and other content. It is our pleasure to bring these to you.

This month, three Looney Tunes characters are arguing over a sandwich, and must amass points to try and win it. You have to conclude who is the winner and how many points they get. If you send us this information by 4pm UK time on 20th September, you will be entered in a draw to win an item of merchandise. Do let us know what you think of this month's reward too.

Many thanks to Joel Blundell for help with the graphic design - you can either solve on a print-out of the document or on our software (links provided in the document). You can start with any of the puzzles (we think they get a little easier one by one) but will need to solve all three character puzzles to attempt The Final Sandwich. Good luck!

are the character 3x3s box 4, 5 and 6?

Anonymous

or is the first 3x3 from R5C1 to R7C3?

Looney Tunes are great, but you should really do a Hanna Barbera puzzle set so Simon can finally get a Scooby Doo.

Actually I think the 'character box' used to count the score is the box that is transferred from the respective character puzzle. Or maybe I misunderstood something...

Man these are hard.

That tweety one really has me stuck. I got the other two though. The Bugs one was my favorite so far.

Thank you, these were really fun! So just to be clear: the "sandwich score" for each character is calculated from inside that character's box that is in the final puzzle. Only the digits that are between those 1's and 9's that have a sandwich clue outside the grid are counted. So if there is no sandwich clue marked between the 1 and 9, those digits are NOT added in the score. Is that correct?

Love this! Request for the next set: if possible, can you give each sudoku its own page? The grids now are fairly small and I have trouble getting all the pencil marks in there without it becoming a scribbling mess. And although the app makes it easier for sure, I'm trying to use sudoku-time as away-from-screen-time...

whew. finally finished and got a happy check. Later saw an error on the palindrome. I can send screenshots to someone if that's helpful.

I found the 3 puzzles hard but really fun! Struggling to figure out which 3x3 box to transfer from each puzzle though.. Potentially just missing something easy! 😂

Very approachable and very fun. Thanks, Mark & Simon!

definitely great puzzles. I am unable to transfer more than 1 box from any puzzle to the final puzzle however. I may have found alternative solutions to the puzzles perhaps. just stuck

Not sure how to get the sandwich score either. Any idea on what it means?

Puzzle links seem to be broken? Edit: Working again September 8th

I had the same problem but then I realized that I had made an error in the knight's move puzzle - the check said it looked good but it didn't pick up on my knight error..!

Finding the right boxes to bring in for the final puzzle was awesome, a great step you can only have with multiple puzzles.

The CtC page doesn't enforce any rules beyond classic Sudoku yet, so this is expected behavior.

I ran into this as well, and had to go back and review my solutions - it turns out I'd violated the knight restriction in my Bugs solution. All three of these puzzles have only a single valid solution, so you've probably done something similar - go back and see if you've accidentally violated any puzzle rules, since the CtC app only enforces classic sudoku restrictions, not anything else like palindromes, antiknight, etc.
