PATREON NEWS
Good morning Patrons!
First and foremost, I am so so thankful for everybody here supporting me! It means the world to me. My plans for 2022 is to get my Patreon up and rolling. And I mean really up and rolling. I would love to get it to the point where I can make a good chunk of my living wages off of it.
With that said, I’ve been trying to figure out the best formula for Patreon. I’ve been looking at other artists to see what they’re doing and what works. From what I can see, the most successful Patreons do full color illustrations with multiple edits. Long story short, that’s the direction I will be going with my Patreon.
To help incentivize people to join my Patreon, I will be keeping the NSFW edits exclusive to Patreon. I also have no plans to adopt the characters out like I did before, unless I specifically make an “adoptable” character.
I’m not 100% sure how I’m going to handle requests & polls yet. While I wish I could draw everybody’s request, I simply don’t have the time. I know before I used to do themed requests and I’m thinking I might go back to doing that. Since my Patreon is still incredibly small, I need to think about characters that will drive in traffic. So for the next while I may be just doing super popular pokemon and characters that I know can attract new Patrons. I’m also open to ideas and suggestions!
PERSONAL NEWS
I think my husband just contracted Covid. He just started a new job, and this means we are out of income again until he can return to work. We will be down to our last dollars within the week. There is a good chance that I will be opening up emergency commissions later this week to help float us by until he is better and can work again.
I plan to offer two styles of commissions - colored sketch commissions with no background for $150 and then full rendered commissions with background for $300. The Ko-Fi sketches of Nia and Lyra are examples of a sketch commission, and I hope to have an example of the full rendered once Zora is complete.
Looking at the prices that other artists have been charging, I’ve realized that I have been way undercharging. I actually think that could have been the cause for my burn out last year. I apologize for raising the prices, but I’m hoping that being able to offer two styles that I can accommodate for different budgets.
Thank you for reading my wall of text! I hope This gives a good overview of my plans for the future! I’m feeling really good about the direction I’m moving in and the artwork that I’ll be creating. And again, I appreciate every one of you so much. This year is the year to get the growth that I want as an artist! I can feel it!
