Donut Delinquent Page 13 (Patreon)

And we're back! 

It took a huge amount of getting over my perfectionism to do this, starting Donut Delinquent back up from when I stopped last August, but I'm very glad I did, once I got going I felt like I was instantly back in the groove of things, something I wouldn't have felt if I tried to restart everything from scratch like I've done in the past (and what my brain kept telling me to do here.) 

I'm hoping this'll appear as a fairly seamless transition from the last page with Lisbeth and Leo arriving at school, which thankfully was the ending of that current scene. Lisbeth and Leo are sporting some slight tweaks and refinements to their coloring and designs, but I'm hoping they're not too jarring. Other character designs will be receiving ever-so-slight glow ups like this over time. 

Enjoy! I'm not sure if this deserves it's own post or not, but due to the holiday Thicker Treat Sweets will be on break this week. I had hoped to finish it yesterday, but family commitments got more in the way than I would've liked and I prioritized this as a Thanksgiving treat to everyone.

Interesting (and admittedly appreciated) decision to make the female portion of the student body plump. Also interesting that Kimi's slimmer than in her reference sheet, her more angular face makes her that much more unique. The refinements to character designs isn't jarring, don't worry about it. And if they were, it'd ultimately just be the evolution of your art style, which is hardly a point of criticism under any circumstances. VERY happy you didn't listen to your brain. What you've drawn and written up to now requires no do-over and once again, it's an enjoyable story thus far with enjoyable characters and an artstyle good enough to be included in FNWF2. Glad to see it return, looking forward to fat Hana- I mean where it goes. And fat Hana. Seriously though, story's great

That poster in the background is a nice Easter egg, and I'm proud to say that I've been a supporter since the first of your projects and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. It's great to have this series back, Thicker. Looking forward to how it progresses! Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for sharing your hard work with us.

Great to see this comic back. However, I have to ask you previously said that this was going to be a very long project due to it being in comic form, is it still going to be that long. Also do I see Krissy name there 👀, is she also going to appear or is that a spoiler

So yes- this is going to be a long story! Donut Delinquent is intended to be a full-length series, comparable to other romance manga series that have inspired it. Series like this take years, and I don't expect DD to be any different. Right now I have a minimum "four 100-ish page each volume plan" to tell all the major story beats, which is still quite a bit, but I would very much like to sprinkle in more "slice of life" type one-off stories into it, especially in the middle portion of the story which would likely extend it past that four volume plan. Right now, I'm just trying to take things as they come though. My goal right now is to finish the first chapter, which will be a huge accomplishment for me, then the first volume. I'd like to maybe up the weekly pages to two eventually, but I'm not gonna go there yet, starting slow. Apologies for the word vomit, just wanted to clear up my current plans a little! :) As for Krissy... Well let's just say that's putting the seeds in for an idea I haven't quite decided on yet.

Yes! That was something I was somewhat concerned about, glad the reception to this is good. I didn't want the entire school cast to be fat- that would take away from Hana's gain, but I did want them all to be on the thicker/curvy side, just so I'd have more fun drawing them. Admittedly Kimi should be just as big as her reference, I think I just slipped up a little drawing her here lol. May go back and edit that if I have time! Also, glad to know the transition with the character designs went well, and thanks for the kind words! I do hope you like what I have in store here!

It is amazing to see this comic back, I have genuinely missed ut quite a bit, so seeing its triumphant return really is something special hahaha. I like the small changes you made, I don't think these have any sort of issues, so don't worry! I'm glad that you decided to make all the girls at least pleasantly plump, it really helps build just how amazing it is that Hana has stayed skinny; speaking of which, I can't wait to see her! I know this is going to be a long story, so I can't wait to see how everything develops, how relationships go, and well, how the world grows as you continue. I seriously can't wait!

Yep, every Saturday as long as things go well! I'd love to maybe try and do two pages a week eventually, but I'm taking things slow! :D

That's the plan! :) When I'm feeling good about it I'll try and pump out more, when I'm not I'll take a break instead of burning myself out!
