Why the chrysalis/twi animation is being changed (Patreon)

so i did a fucky wucky the recent animation i did featuring chysalis ember Twi and gleam was deleted because it was far too close to the actual reference material I used to create it and people picked up real fast where the reference was from and that left a bad taste in my mouth and i felt like a fucked neterixx (the artist who made the reference I used) it didn't feel right about it my original idea was "hey if your not stealing art and your just using reference material, you can be as close as you want" i thought the only thing that was taboo was just stealing art and claiming it as your own and the rest is fair game.

not to say using reference material is bad but i agree that this one was far too similar. I didn't think it was THAT bad but given how quickly random people were able to point out exactly where i got it from made me think otherwise and now i feel icky from it and i wanted to fix it as quickly as possible. I talked with neteri about the situation fully prepaired to delete the animation and just cast it into the fires of mount doom but neteri was kind enough to say just swap the characters out and leave it at that which im really thanful for.

Going forward i will no longer be accepting any reference material that is from SFM and possibly even MLP related "Pie in the sky" is another animation that is being made using the reference of someone else's artwork but i don't think that its as bad as this because its not made from sfm and its just hand drawn images but i'm going to be far more cautious about using MLP artwork as reference material. the animation in question will be back up in about 20 minutes from now with new characters but i just wanted to clear things up before i republish it with a new cast of characters that all
