For @surmediaoutlet
TL/DR: I rarely do product shoots because it tends to not align with my artistic integrity.

People always ask me about working with brands. And the thing is, most brands want you to sell their stuff for them. Usually they'll give you a code, and when people use it you get 10-15% commission from the sale. Idk about you, but I am not using my artistic energy to be a salesperson.

Here's what I WILL do: 1. Be paid to model product (depending on what it is, I'm selective) 2. They can send me product and I will model it and send them photos back (depending on the cause/message)

Here's what I won't do: I will NEVER exchange a post for compensation of any kind. I do not believe in using my platform to sell shit. I refuse to let anyone but me dictate what to post. Yes, this means I've turned down money in exchange for branded product or service posts. I love my art community and I believe they follow me because they love my art. I don't like the idea of taking advantage of that. My instagram is not a billboard. It's a carefully crafted portfolio.

So, if you follow me on instagram and see me post things for brands in my story, it's because I'm an actual customer of that brand and had a good experience, so I wanted to share it with anyone who might find it interesting. If I happen to post a photo from a product shoot (which hasn't happened to date), I'll credit them properly. Congrats if you've read this far, but now you know!
