We've spent 100+ hours getting to know these characters and their stories. It may sound silly to say that we've connected so much to these fictional characters, but Atlus has done a tremendous job in making these characters feel real. We've experienced hardships together, laughed together, and cried together. At the end of it all, it's difficult not to feel some kind of post-game depression. From playing Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal, I've gathered that life is all about the journey, not the end-result. We meet new friends, share a journey for a limited amount of time, and then we part our ways - thankful for the time we've spent together. Now and then, we'll look back and think fondly of each other. It's not exactly practical to be close friends forever, so why not go, each on our own separate ways, with a smile? Crying, waving, and looking back behind your shoulder endlessly doesn't change it. Goodbyes are necessary for us to walk along new paths, to meet new friends, and to garner new experiences. This song, Our Light, encapsulates the experience of a group of friends that must part ways to move on to the next stage of their life.
