Progress Report - February (Patreon)

Hey everyone!

Here's our progress report for February.

The two major projects that got (almost) completed this month were the finalization of Hermione’s character art and clothing items, as well as the all new face-lift we’re giving to Cho.

Both of them have been successfully added into our (publicly available) developer build of the game, but are gonna require some heavy bug-fixing and posing-changes before they can be considered finished.

The complete-overhaul of Hermione’s sprite took us a bit longer than expected, as well as the rework of Cho’s face that wasn’t originally planned to be part of this update.
So thank you very much for your patience!

We’ll share some news about 1.38, and the plans we have going forward early next month.
And hope to release the next update sometime in March.

Hermione:

All of Hermione’s expressions have been redrawn in higher resolution, and got added to the game.

Hermione’s events are getting expanded with additional writing, dialogue choices, improvements and fixes that should give you better replayability and improve the experience in general. 

Cho:

As we’ve shown in several previews, Cho’s character sprite has received a major update, with an all new head, hair, and several new face layers.

Not only does she look truer to the game’s art-style, and subjectively better, but this change should also allow for her expressions to be more lively!

Improvements:

Additionally, we’ve been working on improving the codebase and game structure which was already long overdue.

It will help us maintain the game better, and speed up any future content creation with the help of our new developer toolset, including; Expression Editor, Bug catcher, various fallback functions, and more. 

The overall game performance has increased, thanks to our thorough optimizations.
