I actually just got back from my second trip to Japan. If you haven't already, you could plan to pre order pocket wifi that you pick up at the airport and if you want to check out Kyoto and Osaka then maybe the JR Pass is something to grab. (Though the line to pick yours up is long as hell)

Oh and you gotta check out Tower Records to see the signed IZONE shirt and the signed Le Sserafim sign.

Oh for sure. If you're just gonna stay in Tokyo then just get SUICA cards to skip the ticket buying process. You can just walk through the station and it'll deduct the correct amount. If you do want to go to Kyoto or Osaka then the JR Pass is like a train all you can ride pass. For $250 per person you can ride all JR Line trains (including one or two to Kyoto/Osaka which can cost $300) as much as you want with no extra payment. The catch is it isn't valid for subways or buses. As for areas in Tokyo I'd recommend Shibuya (Harajuku is here too), Ikebukuro (I stayed at a hotel here called the Sunshine City Prince Hotel and it was $40/night highly recommend), Shinjuku, Asakusa, Akihabara for your anime fans, and Shin Okubo for Korea Town. If you care about Gundam and seeing the Giant robot or the factory then you can travel to Yokohama. Pocket wifi is great because Google Maps tells you what station and which stops to get at. It even tells you when the train will leave/arrive. I went overkill and got the 10GB plan for $70/day. But you can go way lower. I got mine from Ninja Wifi. (In the airport they're known as J Wifi for some reason) Oh and if you're flying into Narita airport (like me) then to leave the airport you can take the Narita Express (free if you got the JR pass) or the Skyline. And if you do get the JR Pass and go to Kyoto, then when you take the Shinkansen Hikari, sit on the right side with a window seat. In about 40 minutes, Mt Fuji will fill your entire window and you'll get killer photos. Oh and there's a million ramen places but I'd recommend Fuunji (in Shibuya) just because the menu is English (you order from vending machine to get ramen ticket) and it's very tasty. I'd recommend Samurai Junjiro channel for restaurants to see in each area so you avoid the traps. Two places that never failed for breakfast were Gusto and Komeda Coffee. And that's about it lol Quite a while before your trip in August so plenty of time. Hope this helps!

Oh and just in case, make sure you and your friends all create accounts on https://vjw-lp.digital.go.jp/en/ and get all the QR codes ready to save you time and headaches at airport customs and immigration.

That’s so cool that you’re planning on coming to Japan! I don’t really know what you and your friends wanna do/eat but I’ll leave a few suggestions! First off, if you’re going in August, you might already know since you’re Filipino (right?), but it’s humid af. HUMID AF. Food-wise, you can get good yakiniku or ramen almost anywhere. In Japan, we often look up restaurants on a site called tabelog which has an English version but not as much info on it. I would recommend using it just to see the ratings. Another thing is people in Japan have no problem waiting in line for popular restaurants and it could take an hour or even more sometimes, so if you’re going somewhere that doesn’t take reservations, an early dinner would be better. Honestly the food is bomb everywhere, but one place I would recommend if you like tonkatsu is a place called Narikura near Asagaya station. It’s literally different from any other tonkatsu I’ve ever had, but just a warning, they only sell tonkatsu meals. If you want sushi right from the fish market, the fish market moved from Tsukiji to Toyosu so make sure you don’t go to the wrong place. If you want the Katsu sandwiches the girls were eating in this video, they’re from a bakery called Centre the Bakery in Ginza. It opens at 10 but they don’t sell the sandwiches til 11, and from what I’ve read online you can’t do takeout for the pork Katsu ones but you can for the beef Katsu or steak ones. I think the girls here are eating the beef Katsu ones. They are extremely expensive sandwiches though, just so you know. Also, Korea town is in Shinokubo, and you can find idol goods and authentic Korean food there. It’s easy to find info in Japanese so if you want to know any other places idols have been to or just in general, I can look it up for you 😊 I hope your trip works out and you all have a good time!
