Wallpaper + Icon Set - Orange Grove (for Desktop and iPad) (Patreon)

HEY HUNS!

While I'm working on this month's NSFW mini episode, I took some time to do this illustration because I was very inspired by one of this month's SFW suggestions that ended up not winning the poll!

Pasya suggested a 1950s alternative universe inspired creation and I was like "OMG YAS I love that era TOT!" I mean, we can all agree that the 1950s in the U.S. was very racist, sexist, homophobic and consumerism based, BUT I gotta say that aesthetically it was one of the best eras when it came to illustrations and marketing. We had some of the best artists producing top notch stuff, not only for ads, but also cartoonists working on comics and children's books. (And we also had designers breaking the mold more and more and distancing themselves from the very blocky-feel European schools understood as "good form" in design)

So I tried to find something from the 50s that could feel authentic for Asking You and ended up landing on Cherry Grove, which was established as a safe haven for the LGBTQ+ community at the time ;v;! Since we have the running joke of Mei using the boys as models for her projects, here we have the boys as models for an ad regarding "Orange Grove" that you guys can use as wallpaper if you'd like //v//~

I feel like this theme could really be something fun to dip my toes in from time to time (// v // )
