A gruff monster slayer won this month's poll and I couldn't be happier with your selection, or getting to dust off this old original character for the first time in years! This man is Sheridan Reid Maxwell, monster slayer of some renown in his world. He was once a priest to a small town, having services every Sunday and involved with his community. But after a werewolf pack tore through them before Sheridan's horrified eyes, they left him alive to suffer and contemplate his dwindling faith. That was over 30 years ago and now the man fights wickedness where he finds it... and takes some opportunities to enjoy sins of the flesh which he never did back when he was still a man of the cloth. Perhaps he's making up for lost time as some of the men he beds are more than a little questionable. Important to know however is that Sheridan has a lifetime of recognizing evil when he comes into contact with it and understands the difference between a good monster and bad. Though his once strong faith is all but gone, he still believes in protecting the innocent and decent, regardless of what form they take.

In this scene Sheridan's partner is Mushog, a bull demon from the Horned Tribe of lesser demons, otherwise called Minotaurus. They are a mostly neutral faction who tend to stick to themselves in the mountains and caves of the region. Unlike most other groups of demons, the Horned Tribe have an alliance with humans and distrust most other demonic factions. Despite their glowing red eyes and powerful bodies, most of them seek to live in peace as farmers, merchants, fishermen and sages. For his part, Mushog has known Sheridan for many years, although neither of them seem keen on settling down. Their relationship is one of mutual pleasure and convenience, with few minced words, nevertheless either man would fight to his last breath to defend his friend if it came to that.
