Much-Needed Vacation! (Patreon)

Howdy folks! It's that magical time of year again when the hubby and I go on a much-needed vacation. And while it can be difficult for me to leave the job for a little while, it is super necessary to avoid burn out and fatigue. For the next two weeks we will be heading to Ontario, Canada to spend time with my family who I haven't been able to see in-person since before the pandemic. It's been a long time coming and I really miss them so hopefully this trip does a lot for my mental wellbeing and can even be fun. (always tricky when it's family but mine does have mostly cool members!) 

As my patrons know who have been supporting me for awhile, I don't take much time off during the year because I believe in fairness to my supporters and want to deliver as much quality content as I can while not abusing the 'freedom' of being my own boss. As such I take off a few weeks in total during a year to mirror what most folks get from more traditional careers. I love making content for you to enjoy, and that means being in my office working to get it to you as often as I can! That said, I pushed myself too hard in the early years of this job and came close to burning out a couple times, so now I make sure to take some time off when I need to so I can come back refreshed and excited!

Spring is almost upon is and I couldn't be happier about it. These winter doldrums ended up being a lot, and it was difficult at times to remain motivated and optimistic. This vacation is coming at a really good time. My husband recently had to have an emergency surgery, and I ended up getting covid a second time in the same week... among other life challenges. Happily, he is fully mended and I am healthy again, and I get to see my family for the first time in almost four friggin' years! All this to say I'm in good spirits and excited to make new stuff for you all to enjoy... Once I'm back in the country of course! Thank you, as always, for your support and understanding.
