Shiro & Yuji (Patreon)

Went back and re-watched Brand New Animal (BNA) cause I find it to be a really fun show. One self-contained season, good characters, excellent animation and the occasional hottie too! ;) It's focused on a city full of beastmen, where everyone can assume a human or anthro animal form. One of the main characters is Shiro Ogami, the wolf pictured here, and even though I'm typically not a fan of main characters in anime, this one I like. A lot of it is his design, but he also tends to be more detached and rough around the edges. They also never give him any hint of obvious sexuality, which I also really like. Usually a fan of when media leaves that up to interpretation. I paired him with Inspector Yuji Tachiki, who some of you may recall I've drawn before. His beast form is a bloodhound, who's very cute too but, a handsome husky human fellow in a flatcap with a thick mustache and sad eyes is gonna win out for me every time! They do have a fair amount of onscreen chemistry, and one gets the feeling that the inspector has a lot of admiration and hero worship in his heart for Shiro. Genuinely wouldn't surprise me if these two get together from time to time - if only to indulge their more primal instincts!
