Trump has made himself deeply unpopular while the Democrats have tried to demobilise the electorate. What, if anything, are the two parties selling? Are they coherent entities? In hindsight the view that Trump would abide by the decisions of the courts was at best three-quarters right. The interesting question from June 2021 is whether that shows there IS a limit to how far the Republicans will go to hold power, or whether there WAS a limit.
