Beta 14 is done!*
*done means ostensibly done with no more balance or content changes, but if any annoying new bugs are discovered it could still be updated at the last minute if necessary, by all means avoiding any changes to the save format and therefore this version is now identical or nearly identical to what will be released publicly, hence it is now Beta 14!
Get Beta 14
I did end up making some changes that could affect save games, so saves are no longer compatible with X2 and this build is on yet another new Steam branch:
On Steam, Beta 14 is located on the new beta branch "beta_14_RC" accessible with the code "ObliterationNation", or if you don't have Steam and bought through FastSpring, use the same link you were already sent for X1/X2. If you were not yet on the Beta 14 DRM-free notification list and don't have a link, send me an email at gridsagegames@gmail.com to be added.
Beta 14 will be released publicly this week, as usual aiming for Tuesday morning my time. If you're on Steam and are using this build when the public release goes out, this private branch will be deleted and you'll be silently switched over to the main branch with no other effect since the build should be identical anyway, or at least save compatible, so nothing else to do on your end.
Runs in this build will also be counting towards the Beta 14 leaderboards, as it is no longer considered a prerelease. However, that leaderboard page will not be reset until after the actual public release.

Many thanks to those who've been playtesting and helping improve Beta 14 over recent weeks! There's still more to come, and a few macro elements that will need to be smoothed out, but those need to wait until Beta 15.
Update 240806a
Wellll... that didn't quite work out as expected, since at the last moment we had a bug discovery that could cause a crash when using a certain new hack and exiting the game and coming back to continue using it on the same map. Turns out that there was no way to fix this without breaking saves :/
So the RC has remained on its own branch in order to finish your runs (which will still count towards official/public Beta 14 leaderboards), then you'll want to switch back to the default branch to get the latest fixes as soon as you can after that. Beta 14 is out!
