Morning Everyone!

Raven

After delivering the Countess to master’s new cathedral, I made my way back into town. Master had sent me a message to take care of my revenge tonight. Sikara appeared from the shadows as I walked. “I don’t need help to take care of the maggot.”

“Not here to help. Master said to watch, that’s it.”

I breathed in relief. I couldn’t stand the thought of someone else killing Ivan before me. Even if it was one of master’s subordinates. It was still twilight, but now that Ivan was making money on a regular basis, he usually started drinking early. An inn called the Sleeping Beauty had become his base of operations much to the displeasure of the keepers, I was sure.

The two of us made our way into the lobby area. The fighting part of the tournament ended a few hours ago and quite a few people were celebrating winning their bets or drinking away their sorrows at losing whatever money they put down. I managed to spot Ivan sitting with his usual buddies in the back. The only question was how to get how away from the tavern and somewhere private.

For the moment, Sikara and I got a seat near them, one of the few that were open. It didn’t take us long to figure out why. As soon as we sat down, Ivan started to suggest that we join him for some nightly activities. I wanted to rip his heart out just from the thought of the performing that act with him.

“Come on! I can pay you well.”

His two goons were smirking obviously enjoying their bosses actions. I guess the saying was true, birds of a feather stick together. Or in this case, monsters. Thankfully, I had only been a slave for a few days before Master Regan took me in, but during that time I say plenty of my fellow slaves be taken against their will. Ivan, the monster that he was, appeared to relish in stealing this from others when he could get away with it.

“How much longer you plan on waiting?” Sikara asked me in a whisper. Her lips hidden from view by her mug of ale.

“I’m still thinking,” I retorted.

“He’s already offered you the prefect opportunity.”

“I know, but…” I said wanting to argue. I was worried what people might think if I was seen taking him away from here and he ended up dead. While he wasn’t too important, murder was still frowned upon.

“Get rid of those thoughts. You serve a higher power now,” Sikara said surprising me with the annoyance I heard on her voice.

“Nyx hasn’t been established yet,” I countered but got a head shake in reply.

“Not Nyx. Master. Master even as his adventurer façade can make any trouble you make disappear. Stop thinking like a mortal. You aren’t one anymore.”

I glanced at my hand that was holding the mug. With less than a thought, tendrils of shadow started to leak from my skin. Part of me knew that I wasn’t the same wood elf that had been forced into slavery simply for having dark mana, a bad omen among my village. Master Regan had saved me and gave me the power to fight back.

“Alright!” I exclaimed. Getting up from our seat, I descretely popped open my shirt so that my chest was easier to see. We walked over to Ivan’s table with a few interested bystanders watching on. Fortunately, most of them had the haze of drunkenness in their eyes. “You said something about a few gold pieces for our time?” I asked with as much sexiness as I could. I was sure I failed horribly, but Ivan was already mostly gone by this point.

“Oh? Finally got your attention. Too bad, I’m not sure I’m in the mood anymore,” Ivan said managing to only slur three words during the sentence.

“Don’t say that,” I said trying to purr like I’d seen a few women do back in the red-light district next to the slave market I was sold. I reached out and grabbed his hand. “It might be summer, but the tonight feels like it might be cold. Don’t you want to help out a poor woman?”

That was all it took. Ivan’s tiny amount of caution vanished, and he wrapped his arm around me. “If you say it like that, I can’t say no!” He stumbled as he got up from the table then looked at his two goons. “Find yourselves some fun tonight.” He then tossed a bag in front of one of the men before he started pulling me toward the stairs.

Even as drunk as he was, he was still tier two. Once his body got moving, he didn’t stumble as much. Just before we ascended the stairs, I saw Sikara leading the two men out of the building. She threw me a wink and I knew I could rely on her to handle them. I would make sure to deliver on my end.

Upstairs, Ivan pushed open what would be the best room of the inn. Sadly, he had turned it into a pigpen. The smell was horrible, and I could instantly tell that he’d brought at least a dozen women or more here over the last few weeks. The stench of sweat and sex lingered like a bad afternoon heat.

Ivan pulled me straight to the bed. His toussers already off as if by magic, I was subjected to the sight of his member. I resisted my urge to vomit and carefully shut and locked the door. With the sound of creaking, Ivan threw himself on the bed.

“How you service me depends on how much gold you get. I’m not about to pay for a virgin since I would be doing all the work.”

“Of course, young master,” I said playing to his ego. I started to carefully release shadows from my feet as I walked toward the bed slowly. Soon the entire room would be soundproof. No matter how much screaming he did, it would be pointless.

“Don’t be teasing me! Hurry over!” he demanded noticing me walking delbriately slowly.

“I’ve just never seen a weapon so large before. I’m a bit worried if it will fit,” I replied. His drunken grin grew into a full blown smirk.

Finally, the barrier of shadows completed, I sped up my pace. There was nothing to stop me now. Expecting nothing more than sex, Ivan had already tossed aside his sword. I still started to remove my top to keep him from worrying about any trick being played. He laid back, likely expecting me to pleasure him with my hands or chest first. I had heard from the other slaves that men liked that sort of thing before the actual act started.

With a smile, I grabbed him gently at first while I put my other hand on his chest. I leaned forward until my lips were next to his ear. “I guess I shouldn’t be surprised you don’t remember me. Time for your actions to come due.”

His eyes shoot open as I increased my grip to my full strength while shadows leaked from my hand on his chest. They made their way into his heart and the two-fold attack caused him to jerk and thrash from the intense pain he started to experience. One of his hands shot under the pillow behind his head and emerged with a dagger that he aimed for my head.

Jumping back without releasing my grip on his manhood, there was a fleshy tearing sound before a small spray of blood covered my face. He screamed in pain as he rolled off the bed holding his crotch. Licking my lips, I stepped forward and brought my foot around cracking his head back, blood exploding from his nose and mouth.

“You think… you can get… away with this!?” he demanded a hand over his crotch and another over his face.

I pulled a cloth from my pocket and wiped off my hands and face. I felt soiled from having his blood on me. “Well… I don’t think you’re going to get away.”

“My boys with avenge me!”

“The two men that were with you?” I asked with a chuckle. “My sister will have already dealt with them. She is much stronger than I am.” I drew my sword and walked over to stand above him. “Any last words?”

“Please! Money? Power? I can give you anything you want!”

“I’m getting exactly what I want right at this moment. Revenge.” I pulled my shirt to the side revealing the side of my breast. There, the symbol that had haunted me for the last six months after the slavers branded me almost shined in the light from the lanterns. Master had offered to change it, but I wanted it to stay there until my revenge was complete.

“The Deritha guild! You were a slave!”

“Exactly right. Let’s give this man a prize,” I jeered clapping my hand on the flat of my blade.

Realization washed over him instantly. I could literally see the gears working in his head. “That’s not possible. Your body was sliced in half from the platform!”

“Quite true, but my new master fixed me. Made me stronger. Promised me that he would let me end you.”

“Fuck! It’s the dungeon!”

“I guess you’re not as stupid as you look. That’s right. It was the dungeon that saved me when you used and abandoned me to die for a few measly silver.”

Ivan’s horrorified face morphed into one of victory suddenly as he slammed his hand on the ground. “Die!” I waited with a grin on my face, but nothing happened. He looked down at his hand in confusion. “Why!?”

“Even if you can feel your mana, it doesn’t matter if you can’t use it. I placed my shadows in your heart effectively blocking the passage. If you had been a pure mage, it probably wouldn’t work for more than a few seconds, but since you’re not it will hold for several minutes. Now then.” I shot my arm forward and my weapon sank through his chest, puncturing his heart.

“Curse… you…”

“Feel free. If you back as a ghost it will give me plenty opportunities to torture you.” I only got some coughed up blood as a response. I felt like a weight was lifting from my shoulders. Remembering what master had said, I leaned in again since Ivan was almost gone. “By the way, Master Earle sends his regards.”

Another realization washed over his face only for his breathing to stop a moment later. I pulled my sword back out and wiped the blood on his clothes. Looking at the room, it resembled a nightmare. Splatters of blood painted the bed, floors, parts of the wall. I couldn’t help the laugh that broke from lips. Finally! I had finally killed this piece of shit.

Once the slightly insane laugh had finally ended, I searched the room for the slave key. It was a magical item that allowed Ivan to control dozens of slaves at a time. While it was a risky thing to do, if the item was taken by a bandit they could turn your slaves against you, it allowed for lower tier people to control more than a few slaves at a time.

Pulling a badge that had some magic to it, I pocketed it before moving to the window. I checked to make sure the alley was clear before I jumped down. My hands and face were clean after wiping them off, but my cloths still had plenty of blood on them. I couldn’t exactly go through the lobby.

“What took you so long?”

I turned to the side as Sikara emerged from the shadow realm. She had plenty of blood on her body as well. “Just some pillow talk. Its not lady like to do the deed without some conversation involved.”

Sikara just shrugged before me made for the stables. Ivan’s slaves were sleeping in and around the structure. Few even bothered to give us a look when we ordered them to follow us. While a few were first time slaves like me, most had been through four or five masters by this point. That was the main reason they were dungeon fodder.

At least they grew interested when master’s cathedral appeared in front of us. Tonight had been a good night. I was glad all over again to accept master back when I thought I was dying. I knew he would lead me to even greater power.
