 From Adal:

Here’s what I consumed in May. Let me know if you have any recommendations for me!

TV:

  • John Mulaney Present’s: Everybody’s in L.A.

  • Evil season 4

Music:

  • Guster - Ooh La La

  • The Decemberists - The Hazards of Love

  • Peter Gabriel - Peter Gabriel 1

  • Cindy Lee - Diamond Jubilee (I think the album can only be listened to from the youtube video they made: Cindy Lee - Diamond Jubilee (2024) Full Album HQ)

  • Cloud Nothings - Final Summer

  • Why? - Alopecia

  • Bat for Lashes - The Dream of Delphi

Other Stuffs:

  • The big joy of this month was taking a birthday trip to Ireland. We spent almost all of our time exploring the countryside and some of the small gorgeous towns that dot the Wild Atlantic Way. Highlights include Glendalough National Park, Dingle, Clonakilty, the Ring of Kerry, Killorglin (where they’ve crowned a different goat ‘king’ every year for 400 years) and the Cliffs of Moher. HUGE thanks to Jemma who drove the entire trip on 2 ways roads that are barely wide enough for 1.5 horses. If anyone ever wants a recommendation list/itinerary feel free to reach out and I’m happy to send along. After so many car rides I’m now obsessed with the snacks Monster Munch and Banshee Bones.

  • After Ireland we popped over to London to see the new Punchdrunk show Viola’s Room (which was a huge departure from their previous shows but still wonderful). We also saw Cabaret (Taylor Swift was at the performance before ours so we were bummed to miss watching her watch Cara Delivigne) which was meh, Operation Mincemeat again and the new Stranger Things stage play which had some of the most jaw-dropping effects I’ve ever seen.

  • In Chicago we saw and loved the new musical adaptation of Death Becomes Her

  • Continuing with theater in town - Jemma and I were amazed and unnerved by the new Michael Shannon play Turret; which my sister Sadieh, assistant directed. AND Sadieh had a massively successful read through of her play The Cave, which will hopefully be produced soon. I’m very proud of her and everything she’s already accomplished this year.

  • Jemma and I had a blast at Arnie Niekamps Eurovision party and we’re now trying to go back and watch previous competitions. CROWN THE WITCH.

  • The Mavericks are in the NBA Finals which is wild. I’m excited to see Luka continue to cement his legacy.

  • Some folks were asking for pictures of our recent foster kittens so I posted them in the Discord under the cute-animal-pics channel.

  • I had a great time guesting on the Improv Is Dead podcast alongside Erin

  • And also enjoyed hopping on the podcast Burn Before Reading to talk about Microsoft’s Clippy and what a horny lil guy he can be. Yes we do read Clippy smut.

  • If you have the means I suggest donating to Palestine Children’s Relief Fund

From Erin:

Hello!

Happy June!

You’re probably surprised to see me here! In truth, I don’t consume enough new content to be able to recommend anything every month. I mostly just rewatch comfort shows and play the sims.

But this month I have a thing!

The Effect-for Christmas I got gifted a year of The National Theatre at home streaming service and it’s been great. But this is by far the best thing on there. It’s a play by Lucy Prebble who was one of the writers and producers of Succession. It is truly one of the best things I’ve ever seen. It’s really romanic and interesting and the performances are next level. It’s so worth the money and I’ve been begging everyone I know to watch it.

Thanks for your support of the show. It really means a lot!

Oh and one more thing-Harrison Lott (who has been one of my favorite comedians for a decade) put out a new web series and I love it so much. Our very own JPC is in one of the episodes(don’t tell him I said this but he’s hysterical in it.)

From JPC:

Hey Riddiots -

First of all, let's all wish a happy belated birthday to my buddy Adal. Okay, now that we've got that shit out of the way, let's talk about Hades 2. Now, I won't get into spoilers or anything, so don't worry about that. I'll just say that I fought the early access for a couple of weeks because I didn't want to play an unfinished game, then I started playing it cause I'm weak, and now I've hit a content wall and I'm pissed. Don't be like me! Wait to play it! Okay, that's out of the way. What else, what else. Oh, I watched Sugar on Apple+ or whatever the fuck that streaming platform is called. I really wanted to like it and I almost did but I do not think they stuck the landing. Still, a fine show.

Uhhh...I think that's all I got. See you next month!

From Casey (this is probably what he’s thinking):

I can’t wait to eat 60 birthday balls (grapes)!
