Hey everyone! We're exploring new ideas for 2024. :)

We've had lots of requests for tokens to go along with our maps. So we've been thinking of making those for characters, NPCs and monsters. They would be portrait style (not top down) and designed specfically to suit our map style.

So our question is: 

Instead of a 5th map each month, would you be happy with a pack of character/monster tokens instead?

The more I can display on the screen for cinematic moments, the better. I would only really want them as portrait, top down misses out on so many details. Will these be common creatures (dragons, wolves, slimes, etc), unique creations, inspired by one game system in particular, a variety of game systems, or third party collaborations?

We're only considering doing portrait tokens. We'd probably start with common monsters and NPCs that are universal for most fantasy games. Dragons, elves, wolves, etc. as well as taking polls for what people want to see most.

tokens I get elsewhere or make myself if it's a portrait, nothing beats your maps though, that is by far more in my interest to get an extra map

I'd say yes if it was top-down tokens, I always found portrait tokens to clash with the immersion of a scene myself

I would be ok with tokens if they focused on BBEG/Unique types. There are already many token makers out there with great stuff. So they need to be animated or unique to want to use them.

I'm a little late to this, but one of the other patreons I follow includes a few asset tokens with their maps, and also a few creature tokens. I could see you guys doing something similar, since you'd be able to just select a few of the things painted onto the maps and have them be standalone in addition to a portrait with each. It'd be cool!
