New map poll for March!

You can vote for as many options as you like.

If you're in the Master Cartographer tier or above and have any suggestions for the next poll leave them in the comments below or come join the discussion in the Map Suggestions room on our community Discord! We often get a lot of map ideas from there.

We get so many suggestions these days and there's a max amount of poll options, so i'm sorry if your suggestion isn't on here, we're trying to take the most interesting as well as those we feel like we'd enjoy designing. :)

It may also be that your suggestion isn't on here because we're already making it!

Panopticon would be great, but too late for my campaign now! Honestly, it’s a simple one but the Hilltop Watchtower sounds like an absolute staple map that, while not immediately arresting thematically like the others, would end up being very useful.

Craytoll

I need too many of these maps

I'm planning on running some Planescape stuff in the future, so the Nine Hells (or any other Planescape content really) is definitely useful.

I find I never have enough variety to nature inspired maps (though I bet they're the best common) Vineyard is a new one <3

Holy Pickle

In general would love more maps for the various outer planes! Hard to find good ones!

Xotyc

A real panopticon would be so cool! It's so hard to find a good map for that, and a supermax prison break would be an awesome scenario!

Dallin

Haha loving all of these suggestions, you've included a lot of non-European options as well which is fantastic for the campaigns I'm running at the moment- can't wait to see how the votes play out

Mirarelle

Palace of Statues for a Ruler's pet basilisk encounter would be awesome

Huge YES to all the non-Western locales! It's especially cool to see real-life architecture, not just the aesthetics: riad (Moroccan house with central garden/fountain), siheyuan (Chinese walled-house with a central yard), and yurt (Mongolian portable home). I personally hope the "Asian Fishing Village" is not just generically oriental, but based on Vietnam, with geography like Hạ Long Bay/Cát Bà Archipelago, and maybe even include some ancient raft-houses a la Cai Beo! - https://photocontest.smithsonianmag.com/photocontest/detail/the-raft-village-in-cai-beo-fishing-village/

The names of the poll options above are taken directly from those given to us by Patrons. It will definitely be inspired by a real place. We used to live in Vietnam and know it well. :) We haven't yet decided what part of Asia we would use as inspiration, maybe a village on Tonlé Sap?

The mix of stilt and floating buildings looks so neat! A Tonlé Sap village would be awesome. :)

Planscape would be great especially since there's a severe lack of it from what I've seen (in terms of maps and tokens)

I run AD&D 2nd Edition so naturally there's a decent amount of stuff within the source books there, but as far as new content, yeah, it's pretty dead. But that's ultimately due to WotC abandoning the Planescape IP and the Great Wheel cosmology after 4e came around. They kept chunks of it, but it's all over the place now, sadly. So if anyone makes some cool Planescape-oriented stuff, even if just for random one-shot locales and situations, I'm naturally all for it. I do think Cze and Peku's aesthetic taste and artstyle would do wonders for such a setting.

Sometimes I think these polls are determined by what people are willing to google ;) I didn't know it was called a Siheyuan but I've wanted to live in one for a long time!

Mr Ross O Binfield

I love all the other realm stuff! Would love to see some Shadowfell love as well though in the future!

I mean, they've a new book this fall, I believe, that's supposed to be a return to it. I already know I'm unlikely to be happy with it, as... well, I don't agree with the faction disbanding- that was a chunk of why I loved the setting. And I don't foresee them walking it back. I also foresee them giving a stretched skin canvas that's vaguely planescape flavored, since they only seem to half commit to anything lately. >< Jaded thoughts aside though, maybe that'll start bringing in resources again?

Nah, I'm pretty much in the same ol' jaded boat. The people who understood what made Planescape (and honestly the majority of pre-4E D&D) special are all gone or have been thoroughly 're-educated' to think their previous creativity was somehow a bad thing. Current-day lore writing for D&D has more in common with a Marvel/DC writing team than it does with the olden days.

Any chance we could get a really generic nobles estate? I've been looking for a nobles estate for heists and noble plot hooks and even fancy PC keeps

czepeku

We made one called Grand Hunter's House and also the Vampire Mansion. Both of those would work!

Alex Hammond

Oh - I'll check those out - Thank you! Such amazing maps - can't wait to see them :)
