Just to make sure everyone supporting us is happy and getting the sort of content they'd like to see, we thought we'd get some feedback!

We're curious if you'd like to see more:

Epic one-room set piece boss maps (like Tomb of Sand, Dracolich Lair, Eldritch Church, Grand Opera House, Train Station, etc.) 

or

Multi-room dungeon maps (like Necropolis Dungeon, Pseudodragon Lair, Great Library, Thieves Guild Hideout, Drakescale Peak, Venom Queen, etc.)

or you can vote for both, or neither!


We'd also love to know which map of ours is your favourite! Or the map you'd most like to see an addition or sequel to. Let us know in the comments below. :)

I'm happy with either option! Just love the content! It really depends on what I have prepared for the session, Boss Maps can help A LOT, from giving ideas to the perfect set piece. But I think dungeon maps/more common ones will be morr utilized.

Im so glad you said i could vote for both! I love epic set pieces and boss fights but gorgeous and complex dungeons etc are also fun. You guys always knock it out of the park (and then some) so really just keep doing the kind of maps that excite you! Im sure they will be enjoyed and appreciated!

I always find the dungeon maps to be slightly more useful, as the epic bossrooms are, well epic, but often difficult to base a session or oneshot on. The dungeon style is just more conducive to creating a whole cohesive experience with minimal effort. The necropolis is the basis of one of my favourite home brew one shots, so I’d like to see more of it :)

Multi-room dungeon maps are always a huge treat for my players, the necropolis map &amp; the observatory were awesome. The boss maps are great too, but feel small and very specialized towards one type of enemy that may not even be encountered in the campaign. Perhaps if the boss rooms were more generalized, such as a bandit captain boss room.

My suggestion is that you guys make a dungeon and a separate boss room (2 seperate images but 1 theme) my favorite map is the black dragon lair, it was the final chamber to my epic mega dungeon in my homebrew world and it was a legendary finish to that story arc!

I voted dungeon, but I'd just like to make it known that that's because there's not an option for more city maps ;) I can't get enough. More on topic, dungeon tiles that can be fit together for unlimited dungeons would be amazing (and allow for some set pieces like boss rooms that fit the dungeon style). Dungeons are all very well and good, but you can only really use them with a party once, and in a long-running campaign you really start to scrape the bottom of the barrel sometimes...

I love both types, but use boss maps a bit more often, so I voted for that. But both are useful 😁 Two of my favorite maps are the Celestial Gate, and the Infernal Tax Office... but honestly, you've made so many amazing maps, it's a tough call!

We've done this on a few occassions (like the Observatory + Geothermal Rift dungeon, or the Couatl interior + exterior. It's a good combination to have both!

The Great Library is gorgeous and will be hard to beat as my favorite. Though really, I love all of your stuff. The number of times I've totally changed a session based on the latest new, pretty thing is high!

You have the prettiest maps on this site, and I think they will benefit tremendously from more tactical features for players or even enemies to use (cover, height, etc). I voted Dungeons because those enable the most fun decisions for players. Especially dungeons with multiple paths and loops that allow navigational choices to truly matter. Otherwise the only choice is to “continue forward.” Thanks for continuing to put out beautiful maps!

I selected both because I can't choose, I love all of your stuff lol. The campaign I run is heavily Final Fantasy inspired (it's set in a homebrew version of Ivalice, sharing the name) and as such I always try to find the most grandiose maps possible. Massive rooms to fight in, hallways 10-15 feet wide at least, etc. I love big maps:) My favorite maps recently are the Void Dragon Lair and the Airship Port and I would LOVE to have some related maps. Possibly a Void/Astral dungeon and some sort of animated sky map for airships

Overgrown non-jungle ruins or non-treehouse forest cities would be a nice change of pace. Everyone's done the ziggurat set-pieces and the kudzu-swallowed ruins, but what of arboretum-coexistent cities like Faerûn's legendary Loudwater? Tudor hamlet architecture with lush, tended trees &amp; greenery throughout. Lively commerce, woodland critters, the works — and &gt;60% human (+halflings, half-elves in close second). 🤷🏼‍♂️🤓

I love all your maps, but I can use the dungeon maps more. Your boss maps can only come up once in a while. I actually get the most utility from the Train Station Concourse and the Opulent Ballroom. They've become Central locations in my campaigns. I have the ballroom printed out for use IRL

Oh, you should send me a photo of that map! We love seeing our maps printed out. We did hope the Train Station would get used a lot as parties come and go on the trains.

My favorite is the goblin bridge and abandoned mine entrance and I would like to see an addition, escpecially goblin variants. I like both dungeons and boss maps, so I don't know.

I am always desperate for good dungeon maps. Not necessarily "mega-dungeon", but a good 6-10 room map that can be plugged into most settings.

I always need more dungeon maps, especially ones that can be broadly applicable while still colorful and cool, like a half-flooded tropical cave crawl, or a series of teleport chambers, or the like

I really like the single-room boss maps for my playing style. I'll typically use old-school descriptions and player mapping for the hallways and room-by-room areas of the dungeons, then switch to the fancy maps for big set-pieces and boss encounters. Works well. Combines old-school with new.

Voted Dungeon Maps as I need more and loved the pseudodragons lair which I used to make Goldenfields more 'interesting' in my take on the Storm King's Thunder campaign. But want to note how wonderful it has been to use the Boss Maps, I've sprinkled perhaps a score in to my games, often just as a fight scene if it fits. But the recent Clockwork Dragon? Well that inspired me to take my Eberron adventure and add an endgame where a Clockwork Dragon has found and jealously guarded a Creation Forge. Here they pump out more of their 'children' in to the Mourneing and beyond. Its gonna be dope and I am hyped. Thanks Cze and Peku

I would love more Citys, Ruined city’s and trading posts, towns and villages. The outdoor world is always easy to describe but my players tend to be tactical and having maps of areas they will be traveling through or based in would be great!

I love maps with different rooms cause it's easier to adapt the maps by shrinking the map to different sizes by using specific rooms or cutting some rooms out

I really wanted to say this a long time ago, I love the boss maps, but tbh, you can really only use those once every several sessions. "Dungeon" maps are way easier to incorporate, whether its a combat or rp encounter. It elevates the majority of the game as opposed to only the big fights. I would love to see more maps with rooms, elevation or other elements and obstacles that make encounters more diverse. Like the Harpy Cove you made, a great example of interesting terrain.

To be honest, now I've started playing in person again, I don't actually use the maps any more. I just like looking at them. That said, dungeon maps are just as interesting as big set pieces, so something more like 50/50 seems like a cool idea.

I really like the perspective on the train station concourse and the victorian garden maps. They are inspirational and close to something I need for a dwarven temple.

Woah, lot of people want dungeon maps. I find the single-room boss maps much more useful and easier to integrate into my campaigns, since they can be paired with a lot of different dungeons, or dropped into a mostly theater-of-the-mind session for some tactical gameplay during the climax.

I love your epic room boss fights. They make for amazing set pieces and really heighten battle. But I also think I'd love to have some more combo maps. Like a kind of dungeon map and a boss fight map when you release. I recently used your shadow fell bridge/fortress combo and I really loved how I could combo the lighting variations in both to express a tainted hellscape and a regular on fire one

The maps are printable and available as PDFs but i understand if you'd prefer to play without maps at the table. Glad they're nice enough to just look at!

As much as I love the epic boss rooms, I have a hard time actually fitting them into my campaigns. They're perfect for designing a one-shot around, and they've definitely inspired me to try to incorporate some new ideas into my campaign, just so I can use them, but... I get way more mileage out of your generic maps like the Desert Canyon, Crossroads, and Overgrown Forest. They're such high quality, and with such amazing artistry and attention to detail, even if they're not as thematically unique as your other work, I use them again and again. Regardless, I know I'll love whatever you come up with next :)

My fave maps are like Geothermal Rift &amp; Hell's Tax Office. All your maps are wonderful though. So hard to pick between Boss rooms or dungeons but I guess I get more mileage out of dungeons.

I straight up arranged an entire minicampaign around the Thieves Guild map, and the library multi-map series played fantastically into the finale of a main campaign arc. I'd love more multi-room maps - they have the most usability out of anything.

I find dungeon maps are much more useful (of course, a 'dungeon' could be anything, just multi-room). I love using big single-encounter / boss maps for set-piece battles, but the name of the game is 'Dungeons &amp; Dragons', not 'Big Encounters &amp; Dragons'. Another thing to consider is supply and demand. The OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of the content out there (other patreon creators, reddit, etc) is single-encounter battle maps. When a content creator makes a usable dungeon, that's what really gets my attention and is much more likely to actually make it into my game. PS: Favourite map - Couatl Temple (awesome multi-floor dungeon that I am currently running my players through). Keep up the great work!

While I voted for Dungeon Map, I do still love some boss maps. However, it feels like all we get are boss maps, and I'd much rather see a balance between the two.

I voted for dungeon maps because of how epic awesome Necropolis and the Geothermal Whatsit (under the giant arcane "laser" at the top of the mountain) (forgive me for not remembering the name of that map but it was amazing) and I'd like to see more of those because I can literally base a whole campaign on some of these (or at least several sessions of awesome). However, I like a variety so I would still want to see some epic "boss fight" maps ever now and then as well as generic "here's a useful map for things like random encounters or as a background to drop a building on or whatever". Variety is the spice of Patreon. And life. And department stores.

I'm 90% here just for well crafted boss maps. There are a bajillion dungeon maps out there, and they are incredibly easy to put together yourself with all the tools available. It's a lot harder to find specific boss-encounter maps that look good and fit multiple genres like what I have found on here. Just my two cents.

Definitely need more multi room maps. I barely use the boss encounter maps, as most of my campaign doesn't feature big bad bosses worthy of such rooms. as far as my favorites, I have recently used the guild hall, thieves guild, and sewers most extensively for my campaign

My favorite is the Mechanical Palace. I'd love to see a multi-page tech dungeon (inside part of a massive crashed spaceship, haunted factory, etc)

I would like to see more general use maps like towns and multiple building maps. My favorite maps are the couatl temple, and the Eldritch church. I have so many of your maps downloaded and being used.

Impossible to have a favourite when most of your maps should be framed and put on display in some museum of art. I love many of them equally much. And echoing what many others have said: Multi-level dungeons with rooms. Idea: I think you can combine these two categories in a certain way: I.e. You make an epic multi-level gothic castle, but the boss room would be a separate artful masterpiece, a bit like the recent sand temple entrance. This way your main focus would be dungeons, and the one room masterpiece would be connected to the previous set, so it would get used by people using the dungeon.

I love all your maps, but certainly the multi-room stuff! just returned from a marathon IRL d&amp;d weekend with my friends and (professionally) printed the complete observatory / geothermal station including 2 of the cave-portals and 1 view of the mountain. awesome huge immersive maps when laid on a table. that being said, i also printed a dual-sided (day/night) version of the 'ages of the vale' inn. have one very reusable place being available in a load of versions and iterations is also brilliant. I would love to see some more of this kind of generic content.

While I love all your maps, my favourite is the Thieves Guild followed by your layered maps; they add so much texture to the game. They are not single session maps and as a DM I can add many rich interplays on those maps. PS. I would be super grateful if you could expand laterally from the thieves guild map into a marketplace then into a tavern (like Meddenfirth). That can be a whole adventure on a single map... awesome-sauce!

I seem to be in the minority in that I would prefer not to have dungeon maps. I appreciate them artistically but my game is not that dungeon oriented, and where there are dungeons they are built around the story (rather than the story being built around the dungeon). So unless you happen to make exactly the dungeon I need, those maps won't see use. What I love are the maps like "Arcane Clocktower" and the interconnected water locations you've made recently. These can be easily slotted into my campaign as interested side quests, or lush locations. They are just so imaginative and flexible. If you go more of the dungeon route, then having really clearly separated rooms can help people like me could still use them as independent bits. In any case, I know whatever you make will be a feast for the eyes!

I have too many favorites! Depths of the Festerwood, Merfolk Marina, Deep Sea Organ, Train Station Platforms and Concourse, Dracholich Lair, Green Dragon Lair, Rooftop Chase, Zen Garden Monastery, ... The big maps feel easier to insert into my existing campaigns. And I really love the way they look, they're so eye-catching. (The dungeon style maps look great too, though, of course!) So boss maps get my vote, but I'll be excited to see what you do next no matter what!

I like both types! I'd love to see more multi-rooms content, in particular larger buildings for palace intrigues, haunted mansions, and more. Not so much the usual caves and dungeons. My favourite map is the Victorian Greenhouse, I also like the Opulent Ballroom, but I would love these as part of a larger location with nooks and crannies to explore (a bit like the Great Library), instead of just one single boss room. Thank you also for airship port and lightning train station maps, these are going to be very useful.

Both are good! Big boss fights are rare in my campaign, so I think I'd use dungeon maps more often. And with your extraordinary style I'd have plenty of ideas for exotic and exciting encounters.

All of your boss maps are amazing and my players have learned to be on their toes when Cze|Peku maps show up! That said, some of the most memorable games we've had were in the Great Library and Spider Cave. For me, it's easier to dream up things to fill an existing dungeon map than to create one from scratch and then fill it. Doable, but requires a lot more time!

You have a ton of beautiful single room or bridge maps for boss encounters. I think more multi-room maps would be better. Hey! Maybe some multi-room maps that tie into some of your existing boss maps?!?

I second krynny, your maps are amazing, but sometimes they can feel a little disjointed when they show up suddenly with not a lot of great other maps to sort of set the stage before the bossfight. Some would make great use of set up maps (Lair of the Illithds pretty please)

Multi-room maps are really nice for those of us that actually try to prep multiple encounters. The Boss Maps are really out of this world man but stuff like your Minotaur Labyrinth, Necropolis, and Cavern of the Venom Queen can last several sessions. It's far easier to use one or two quality dungeon map(s) for several encounters than mix and match various free maps to try and get a full adventuring day's worth of encounters placed. The folks above me have suggested tying in dungeons with your existing Boss Rooms. How about a dungeon that leads to those Elder Brain, Beholder God, or that Eldritch Church maps? Edit: Favorite maps are def Necropolis, Temple of the Couatl, Pharaoh's Tomb, and the Eberron transit maps because Eberron.

I prefer your environmental maps. The exotic stuff like the Astral Plane or Fey Village are great examples of this, but I've gotten the most use out of stuff like City Marketplace, Mountaintop Harbor and Colossus Harbor. These environments that I can slot into my games without having to work around them too much. By contrast, the highly complex designs like Minotaur Labyrinth, while I appreciate their detail, are things I'm less likely to use because I have to build the content around them.

I agree with this, however, a sprawling map geared toward a heist, or espionage could be really fun, with ample nooks and crannies for players to hide in. I have done this as theater of the mind to good effect when its one player venturing out, but to have the whole group a visual aide would help.

There is a place for both in my heart but my preference is for dungeon maps. I feel that boss fights happen at culmination points in a campaign but you’ve got all that time leading up to it to go through first. Having said this I am playing in a Tomb of Annihilation campaign at the moment and we were planning to fight the King of Feathers at the amphitheatre and offered the DM the coliseum of challenges map for the fight. He initially said no, there was a map for it already in the pack I think, but when he saw the coliseum map he changed his mind and this morning we trounced the feathery t-Rex in the middle of a grand stadium arena. Very fitting.

You guys do AMAZING work! I'd love to see a Sharn-themed battlemap some time. For some reason, there's not a single good one to find on the internet. I really do appreciate the general Eberron love you provide with the airships and lightning rail.

Not sure if cze peku will see this since it's old but I'd love a hybrid of set pieces. Like for the tomb of sand. The exterior is amazing but my group is going to want to enter that tomb. I don't want an entire interior tile for tile dungeon of the tomb but maybe 2 rooms plus a boss room would be perfect. This allows me to run a few plot centered encounters and make my players feel like they are in the tomb

We did see it! :) This is basically what we're planning to do from now on (where possible). We'd like to make more multi-room interiors to go with the existing set pieces we've made so far. Tomb of Sands is on that list!
