Hey everyone!

We wanted to get back to some Asian themed maps as we hadn't made one since the Steamy Japanese Bathhouse in July last year! Crazy how quickly that time passed by.

So, grab some sake and welcome to the local forest shrine! Nestled on the hilltop amongst the trees and streams, nature and its spirits abound in this sacred space. Lucky for you they're currently holding a festival! Whether your party is welcome or not, we'll leave that up to you...

This made was made in collaboration with Ori the Cartographer who makes awesome battlemaps, so go check out her Patreon.

And also in collaboration with The Griffon's Saddlebag who has provided two magic items to suit the theme. Patrons can get those here. The Windrazor and the Nightstalkers Armor of the Northeastern Wind pair very nicely with the Lone Samurai variation, you can rob them from his fallen body. ;)

Oh and for those who haven't seen it yet, we've got a new contest. Go check it out and take part!

This is... stellar. Wow. One of your best.

Wow, Beautiful! Your previous Steamy Japanese Bathhouse was also fantastic. Are you still living in Japan?

Kackman

Amazing as always.

AyuVince

Brilliant! I have an Asian-inspired region in my D&D world and this is perfect. More non-European architecture, please! Something Egyptian or Mesopotamian would be cool.

It's incredible, Perfect as the entrance to the bathhouse

Andrew Prostko

Beautiful. Are you planning to do an interior of this shrine by chance?

Wow, look at the "realism" of these maps. Amazing colors, textures and details!

Amazing work, I didn't know that I needed to build this envrironment in my game but now I do.

I love the stress on maps from different cultures! Would you ever consider doing an African themed one? I have a setting in my campaign world that's basically a bunch of Afro-fantasy tropes.

I was brainstorming different world cultures and seeing what gaps we have. I don't think we've done anything Native American or African (except the Pharaoh map) yet. Both of which would be great to explore. We've got something Middle-Eastern coming up and we're planning an Indian themed map too.

Paul

Amazing stuff! Hopefully it's not too late, how about making a "Christmas themed" battlemap for Christmas? Say for example Santa's northpole and workshop?

Anonymous

Super looking forward to it! If you are doing a First Nations themed one, I'd love to see something maybe like a Salish loghouse with totem poles, or maybe something along the lines of Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump, which could be good for hitting the Mongolian / Turkic plains too if you take the cliff face off in certain variations??

czepeku

There'll be a map coming in a week or two with a Christmas variation. ;)

KillinTime2792 .

Is there a version of that kirin by itself?
