In case you didn't see the write up in the last post, this is the first of a series of polls we'll be running asking you guys about RPGs, our maps, Patreon and more, so that we can get a better idea of what our community is like and what it's interested in. All polls are anonymous and voluntary too. If you don't feel like answering, that's fine. We just want to get to know everyone better. If anyone wants to start a discussion in the comments, go for it!

I only play DND, so I might not be the best candidate to ask, but I used your ogre feast map recently to host an orc party! Passed it off as the Party Palace, a building that the orcs quarantine to be trashed every time they have a holiday celebration, with a moat around it to stop partygoers wandering off!

We play Starfinder. That lets me use a lot of fantasy maps, but I'd love to see some more modern or sci-fantasy from time to time.

Hey Zakk, there'll be a new poll up on Sunday after we release the next map, if you have a specific sci-fantasy idea I'd happily add it.

DnD definitely seems to be the fan favourite (no surprise there though). Orc Party Palace is a super creative idea to run! Were your players the Orc's or did they crash the party?

We play Dungeon World. After being a DM as a teenager, I am rediscovering it as a sort of "geek-dad" with my teenage kids and their friends. Suddenly dungeon crawling is part of their social calendar (4 consecutive weekends so far because they insist on developing that campaign further!) and are having a blast. Even though I spent time searching for prep material, I had a difficult time finding things that are creative and seem like fun to play. So I ended making up a middle earth version of a failed startup business - the owner wanted to disrupt the transportation business with tamed and bred flying dragons that are for hire. Unfortunately his investors were killed in a tragic misunderstanding with local cave dwellers - and our entrepreneur is since then bored and waiting desperately waiting for real customers. I had planned that my player characters would rent those dragons in order to escape a chase by an overwhelming enemy, but they did such a good jobs with negotiation, charisma rolls and spells (and being totally in the game) that they convinced the owner (and me) to sell the dragons for a ridiculously low price. So suddenly my level two player characters were riding a fleet of dragons at their command. I forgot to mention that those were "gas dragons", because that custom breed led to an unusual kind of weapon... Narrow escape, aerial combat, ya da ya da, in short great time had by all! Sorry, just had to tell *somebody*! But as I sad, most prepared material I found seemed to probably add to the detail but not necessarily to the fun. Now, however, I am totally inspired by those more than 100 gorgeous Wizard Tower battle maps you created. That will be part of next weekend's installment!

Hey Eckart, thanks for sharing! Sounds like with or without prep material you were able to create a thrilling story, it's definitely an original plot! And it's awesome you're able to get back into the hobby by showing your kids. I bet having such an experienced DM is a great gateway into role-playing for them. We'll be creating an Ancient Wizard Lair, we're hoping to make it compatible with the Wizard Tower, so maybe you'll be able to use both at once. How is Dungeon World? I've not tried it out, would certainly like to.

2023-03-27 05:29:41 Awesome, the Ancient Lizard Lair will fit right in. Next in the plot is that the adventurers are crawling through a castle that is controlled by the teenage daughter of the royal family. She is a talented wizard, unfortunately she felt under-appreciated by the judges of the recent science fair eh better say magic fair. She is now holding a grudge and is preparing for next year's fair by engaging in a multitude of arcane and dangerous magic experiments, that are set up in room after room throughout the castle. --- So your recent release of the 118 wizard tower rooms is a great fit and will be used for that. The wizard lair map you are working on would be a perfect finale for this quest! --- As for Dungeon World, we like it because one can view it as a simplified version of D&D with an emphasis on light preparation and a bit of humor.

Sounds like some awesome ideas you have cooked up, hope your kids enjoy it. Based on real events I'd guess? We'll try to connect the wizard lair to the tower so that they can be used together for a finale like that. It definitely sounds like the guildhall could work for the castle too, if you're planning on having any encounters there.
