It looks like you somehow are getting the wrong titles and yet the episodes are still in order This is the great dime chase

This one is the actual Great Dime Chase episode. Beagle Birthday Massacre is the episode after this one.

This episode is interesting for a couple reasons. First, their mom had always been a big mystery because she was never really addressed in the original show, might have been in the comics but I'm not sure. Secondly, Gyro is a character from the original series, though much more of a mild mannered scientist. Having him preformed this way by Jim Rash is great as he has a more distinct personality (something this reboot has done quite a bit with most characters) but also is giving hints to some of the things from original series, like the whole Blatherskyte thing. That was a big easter egg for people like me who grew up with the original series. That is definitely one thing this show does a lot of, working in characters and references to not only the original series but other Disney cartoons. One of the ones that they mention several times is the name of the city Cape Suzette, not really in any meaningful way just as in naming another city, but that was the city Talespin took place in. Another city of anthropamorphic animals though it featured characters from The Jungle Book in a modern city. Also, Scrooge's lucky dime has been something carried on all the way from the early comics. Which on a funny side note a guy once tried to patent a method of helping recover sunken ships but was turned down when upon research it turned out the method had been used in a very old Donald Duck comic, imagine going to check up on the progress of your patent only to be told "sorry Donald Duck beat you to it".

In all honesty, i was a little apprehensive to watch this show when it first premiered in 2017. I half expected more of a closer reboot of the original series and not this Duck Tales/Quack Pack hybrid mixed with a dash modern sitcom thriller/drama. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that the triplets are not clones of each other and have their own individual personalities. But the one thing that irks me the most from the start is that it seems that Huey and Dewey are swapped. From what I recall; Dewey was the knowledgeable bookworm who lived to be an honest junior woodchuck while Huey was the headstrong, wannabe cool leader with bravery to boot. All in all, I LIVE FOR THIS SHOW!!! I especially love how Webby and Mrs. Beakley are more prominent, self-efficient characters. I want to talk more about the show, but I know we are not far enough in for open discussions. I look forward to more reactions and DEFINITELY SEASON THREE!

when you realize the "Don't be suspicious" song is sung by Dewey's VA as well as Ponyhead's. Good choice xD

Looks like the header is mislabeled. This isn't "The beagle birthday massacre", but "The great Dime Chase". Which is of course the correct episode in the ordering..but th epost label did make me expect something completely different

Actually, Ma Beagle showed up on the original show pretty often. I remember one episode where she and her boys rigged up a con to make people think she and Scrooge were married! And it worked! (for a little while)

I haven't seen the original series in years, but that final scene and that focus on the notepad got a shout of joy out of me. It will make sense really soon. That's one of the things I really love about this show. Instead of cramming one hastily thrown together plot at us all at once, key plot lines are left to simmer and slowly form in the background while the main stories play out. They could have spoiled the mystery of Della Duck in one episode, or rushed through Lena's storyline, but instead tease us and keep engaged so that pay will be worth it... and boy, are the pay offs worth it.
