So Patreon has told me to tell my patrons (I imagine as a way of shoving off anger/confusion on creators instead of to themselves) that they're going to start charging goods and services taxes to those countries that require them.

They did not make it immediately obvious who would be paying the GST, what the GST would be paid for, etc.

They did inform me to better define the rewards the I offer for pledges, so that they can use the appropriate level of taxes, and that was about it.

HOWEVER, a second email was recently sent to me with more pertinent information:  https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043054911#talktopatrons

So - all up, this should effect less than half of patrons. And of that, I offer very little in the way of 'goods and service' based rewards. I don't anticipate anyone's pledges to me will be substantially altered, but if it is, let me know, and I will do my best to adjust and accommodate as we collectively work through this.

More  information, as it was handed to me:

If you have to raise prices, I’ll pledge the same level I am on.

Sketch tiers will probably be affected but you weren't offering one sooooooo :U

So it all depends on how things are defined I'm guessing, and that changes per country~? Like I don't offer a sketch tier, but I do offer high res versions of pictures, maybe *that* counts as digital goods? But it's not like I'm making them custom or anything...
